Maisie Smith says her relationship with boyfriend Max George has become even stronger, especially since he had heart surgery nearly a year ago.
The 24-year-old former EastEnders star recently shared that a year ago, everyone was uncertain about the future after singer Tom Parker, 37, had a critical operation.
I was so worried about Max last December! My friend Babs noticed he’d gone really pale, almost blue, and she immediately knew something was wrong. She wouldn’t take no for an answer and insisted we rush him to the emergency room. Thankfully, they discovered he needed a pacemaker, and it’s been a huge relief knowing he’s got that support now.
Fearing he’d die, Max wrote a will out in his iPhone in case things took a turn for the worst.
After nearly a year, she says their connection is even stronger now, and she’s rediscovered her love for him.
The couple recently appeared together in a stage production of Jeff Wayne’s ‘The War of the Worlds’ in March, where they played a married couple.

Just last month, Max finished performing the U.S. dates of The Wanted’s 2.0 Tour with his bandmate, Siva Kaneswaran.
Maisie shared with The Sun that her father is recovering from his recent health issue, having both good and bad days, but is noticeably gaining strength and enjoying being back on stage.
She shared that he’s doing great. Considering no one knew what the future held a year ago, it’s wonderful to see him pursuing his passion.
Maisie shared that she went to New York to see her boyfriend perform, and it felt good to watch him succeed after a difficult year.
Maisie and Max, who met on the show Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, are planning a special trip away after their Christmas plans were disrupted last year.
She has seven weeks off over Christmas to ‘just sit at home, chill and do nothing’.
I’m so excited for my clients who are heading to France for Christmas! They’ve planned a cozy getaway, renting a charming little cottage where they can really enjoy some quality time together. It sounds like the perfect festive escape!
Maisie also shared that they might also book a hot holiday for afterwards, as they ‘deserve it’.

Oh my gosh, Maisie is killing it in ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ right now! And get this – she’s acting with Ed McVey, who you might recognize as Prince William from ‘The Crown’! Seriously, a dream cast, and she’s just amazing in everything she does!
She’s also taking on the role of Marge Sherwood in the stage version of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 thriller, which centers around the deceptive character Tom Ripley.
She also shared that Max is excited to see her perform and showcase her singing talent on stage.
