I’ve just read through Max George’s heartfelt journey as he faces another challenging chapter in his life. It’s truly inspiring to see how he approaches adversity with such resilience and positivity, displaying an unwavering spirit that is both admirable and contagious.

On the verge of an emergency heart surgery prior to Christmas, Max George was paid a visit by his loving partner, Maisie Smith.

36-year-old celebrity from The Wanted is currently in the hospital due to an atrioventricular block, specifically a 2:1 type. He has just announced that his upcoming heart surgery will be performed earlier than planned as his heart rhythm, unfortunately, hasn’t improved.

On Wednesday, the singer received a boost when his girlfriend Maisie, aged 23, paid him a visit.

On her Instagram Stories, the ex-actress from EastEnders posted a photo of herself with her hand held by her partner in a hospital setting, accompanied by this message: “Had the chance to visit my incredible boyfriend today [heart emoji]. So proud of you @maxgeorge.

Max reposted the image, adding: ‘Thank you baby. I love you so much.’

In the summer of 2022, Max and Maisie became connected, as they were observed sharing a kiss aboard a flight heading to Crete. It was reported that their friendship had blossomed during the Strictly live tour, following their initial collaboration on the show back in 2020.

Since around a year ago, Maisie has been living with Max, and since then, they’ve been tirelessly working on renovating their ideal dwelling.

As a devoted supporter, I’ve been standing by his side during his health ordeal. Just yesterday, Max disclosed some concerning news: after undergoing a comprehensive chest scan, it appears he may need surgery much sooner than expected, potentially allowing him to celebrate the upcoming festivities at home.

On Instagram, Max posted a snapshot showing him dressed in a hospital gown inside an ambulance.

He wrote: ‘Had a little day trip today. Full cat scan on my heart. Not something I’d choose to do again!

Allow me to reiterate a point from our discussion yesterday: I’ve been diagnosed with a 2:1 block in my heart. Regrettably, my heart rhythm remains slow for nearly an entire week now.

Max stated: “Given the circumstances, it seems that my surgery will take place sooner than initially anticipated by the doctors. It might even mean I’ll be home for Christmas! So, we won’t have a lot of time to spare.

Currently, it’s quite an unsettling period, and the past couple of nights have been particularly challenging. However, I feel deeply moved by the outpouring of encouragement in your messages. Thank you.

1) ‘Not only acquaintances but strangers as well have provided me encouragement. This support has significantly uplifted me, and the affection from my loved ones holds immense value for me.’

An Atrioventricular block refers to a condition where the normal transmission of electrical signals from the atria (upper chambers) to the ventricles (lower chambers) of the heart gets slowed down or completely stopped.

The origin of this issue has been a puzzle, and Max, who has dealt with alcoholism in the past, remarked: “We’ve ruled out several possibilities, such as alcohol for instance, I haven’t had a drink for nearly five years now, so it’s not that.

He shared with his group: “I’m wishing you a wonderful evening, I had a chat with the nurse earlier and it turns out I’ll be getting my scan sooner than expected.

That’s quite impressive, and as of now, we refer to it as a 2:1 block. We are currently investigating its underlying cause before deciding on the most suitable treatment, whether it’s a pacemaker, a defibrillator, or some other solution.

In a cheerful manner, he commented: ‘Well, it seems I’m in this spot, feeling alright tonight, despite the loss against United.’ (Manchester City)

A pacemaker is a compact, battery-driven tool that helps ensure your heart doesn’t beat excessively slow. Typically, a procedure is required to insert it, which is usually performed using local anesthesia.

After experiencing a sudden illness last week, Max posted on Instagram: “Hi all, Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well at all and had to be admitted to the hospital. Sadly, it appears there are some complications with my heart based on recent tests.

I still need numerous evaluations to figure out the severity of the issues and the type of operation required for my recovery.

The upcoming period will likely prove challenging… And, truth be told, spending Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t part of my initial plans!

Yet again, I’m immersed in a sea of affection and encouragement from my exceptional partner Maisie, her loved ones, my kin, and friends. I can confidently assert that I’m completely at my optimal position.

Despite the significant surprise and undeniably a setback, I’m determined to tackle this challenge head-on with my utmost strength! I consider myself fortunate that this issue was detected early on.

He added: ‘Apologies if I bore you with updates in the coming weeks..I’ve probably got a month in a bed and there’s not THAT much to do! Let’s do this! Much love, Max x’

Not long after making the announcement, Max playfully mocked the defeat of Manchester City during Wednesday evening’s soccer match from his hospital bed.

Lying in bed with a heart monitor across his chest, he joked: ‘So I think they are officially trying to kill me off… come on boys.’

Over time, Max has been transparent about his struggle with excessive drinking and alcohol addiction. In the past, he confessed to consuming “ten pints and three bottles of wine” during a single evening.
