Magic Returns: HUGE Update for Now You See Me 3 Location!

The enchanting robbery movies are being expanded into a trilogy with “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t“, and Lionsgate has recently revealed some of the picturesque filming spots for this movie. The bustling cityscape of Abu Dhabi will serve as one such significant location, thanks to its famous urban scenery.

According to Mohamed Dobay, Acting General Director of Creative Media Authority, the Lionsgate team derived significant advantages for producing “Per”, the third installment in their franchise. This included a 35% financial rebate and logistical assistance from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission. Additionally, they collaborated closely with Miral Destinations and Epic Films, leveraging their local crew’s expertise for key filming locations and production.

The movie features Woody Allen, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, and Morgan Freeman landing at famous spots in Abu Dhabi like Yas Island, the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, and the Liwa desert – locations that have been prominently displayed on screens previously as the backdrop for other films. Additionally, newcomers Rosamund Pike, Ariana Greenblatt, and Justice Smith will embark on this journey with them.

Matt Leonetti from Lionsgate Motion Picture Group mentioned that, just like the previous Now You See Me movies, this new one will continue to whisk viewers away on thrilling global journeys. One of the places they’ll visit is stunning Abu Dhabi, where its unique landmarks and friendly locals will add an extra layer of enjoyment and memorability to the film for audiences around the world.

Abu Dhabi isn’t a fresh location for Hollywood blockbusters; instead, it’s been a popular setting for many successful films. The modern cityscape and desert landscapes have often served as the backdrops for various stories. For instance, “6 Underground,” “Dead Reckoning: Part One,” and parts of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” were filmed here. Notably, “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” utilized over 170 local crewmembers, including six up-and-coming filmmakers from the UAE who earned internships on set.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t Comes to Theaters in November

While specifics about the third movie’s storyline remain scarce, we can confidently predict it will maintain its signature blend of heist-style action and magical elements similar to the first two installments. The initial film introduced us to Jesse Eisenberg’s character, J. Daniel Atlas, who masterminded a group known as the Four Horsemen. They staged magic shows that covertly depleted the bank accounts of the wealthy and unscrupulous, distributing the funds to the spectators. FBI agent Mark Ruffalo and magic skeptic Morgan Freeman were on their tail throughout the storyline.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set to premiere November 14, 2025.
