Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang has landed on ITVX, after airing on ITV2 over the weekend.
Following 2005’s “Nanny McPhee,” a continuation of the story is now available for streaming, featuring Emma Thompson once again stepping into the title character. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Ifans, Asa Butterfield, and the late, esteemed Maggie Smith join her in this star-studded cast.
In the English countryside, amidst World War Two, the story unfolds around Nanny McPhee, portrayed by Emma Thompson. She makes her way to the Green family’s farm, where she is resolute in assisting Isabel (played by Gyllenhaal), a mother grappling with her three energetic children and some lively cousins.
2010 saw the debut of a delightful film that Digital Spy described as endearing, boasting an impressive 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
In September, when Smith was 89 years old, he portrayed the character of Mrs. Agatha Docherty, the shop owner, in a comedy production.

As a gamer, I remember shedding tears multiple times when diving into this game’s script during its launch. I shared this with Bang Showbiz, opening up about my emotional journey with it.
As a gaming dad, I firmly stand by the notion that creating awesome films for kids is crucial. Though my daughter’s still too small to watch this movie, I can’t help but notice how she absorbs every scene like a sponge whenever we watch anything together. It’s fascinating!
To be honest, what truly mattered to me was getting the role and performing alongside Emma. I found myself tearing up around five to six times as I read through the script.

Similar to its follow-up, the initial Nanny McPhee featured an outstanding ensemble, boasting the talents of Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Angela Lansbury.
The first film was also well-received by critics and holds a score of 74% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang is available to stream on ITVX.
