Magda Szubanski receives messages of support from A-List friends amid devastating cancer battle
Magda Szubanski is feeling the love from her famous pals and longtime fans as she battles cancer.
In May, the Australian humorist disclosed that she is fighting against a swift-progressing and uncommon type of blood cancer known as Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
Now, Magda recently shared on Instagram about the thoughtful present she got following her diagnosis, which was generously given by the charitable organization Equality.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to @equalityaustralia in a post’s caption, as they compiled heartwarming messages of love and goodwill from LGBTQIA individuals nationwide. The post featured a book entitled ‘Letters to Magda.’
‘I am very, very moved,’ the 64-year-old added.

Her famous friends flooded the comments section of the Instagram post with support and love.
‘So much love to you x,’ celebrity chef Nigella Lawson wrote.
Terri Irwin also penned: ‘You are loved.’

Two months ago, Magda revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 64.
She made an appearance on camera, revealing her bald head following cancer treatment, to disclose the unexpected news.
Greetings everyone. I wanted to share that I recently received a diagnosis for a rare, aggressive, and severe form of lymphoma. As a precaution, I’ve decided to shave my head, as the doctors expect the hair loss to begin within the next couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, it turns out to be a difficult one. However, the silver lining is that I am surrounded by lovely friends, family, and an exceptional medical care team.
To be truthful, Australia boasts some of the finest offerings globally, and that’s especially true in Melbourne. Consequently, I consider myself quite lucky.
It’s quite intense, even overwhelming at times, but there’s a steady stream of innovative solutions being developed continuously.
Magda mentioned that she’s begun a therapy known as the Nordic protocol, designed to combat Mantle Cell Lymphoma. This treatment reduces tumors using a blend of medications given across five distinct stages.
It’s known as the Nordic regimen based upon its clinical trial sites in Denmark and Norway.
The actress explained she will be ‘lying very low’ due to her weak immune system.
She candidly admitted, ‘Things are tough right now, but there’s a silver lining. I’m surrounded by wonderful friends and family who care deeply for me, my medical team is exceptional, and I feel incredibly supported by those around me.’

The Kath & Kim star said the cancer was discovered during a routine breast screening.
