MAFS Stars’ Son Rushed to Hospital After Shocking Playtime Accident
The stars of Married At First Sight, Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson, have recounted a distressing ordeal they faced at the hospital involving their family members.
Speaking as a lifestyle expert, let me share an experience from my personal life: Last night, my partner and I found ourselves dashing our young son, Oliver, aged four, to the Northern Beaches Hospital. This unexpected event took place during the 2019 season of that popular Seven reality show we were featured on.
Taking to Instagram, Cam, 40, shared an image that showed Jules, 42, doting on her injured son.
In a hospital bed, young Oliver sat bravely with a cast on his face, and Jules kindly presented him with a sweet treat.
Cameron explained that his son was a little overzealous during play time.
‘Didn’t expect to be here on a Monday evening,’ he wrote.
‘3 stitches later side of cheek…balance beam fail…tough lesson…balance better.’
Additionally, Cam posted a brief video featuring a courageous Oliver enjoying his playtime among the toys within the pediatric ward at Northern Beaches Hospital.
Glancing about to uncover a room adorned with cartoon motifs, Cameron pondered aloud as to why grown-up spaces couldn’t exude a comparable atmosphere.
Cameron wrote: “It’s puzzling to me why adult hospitals don’t have cheerful and inspiring environments like children’s wards do, which seem designed to soothe, divert, and lower tension.
Additionally, Jules posted a brief video on Instagram, capturing moments from the car ride where the patient was seen joyfully conversing, following their hospital discharge.
In this charming video, Jules shared that her brave child had made their fourth trip to the hospital over the past four years.
‘3 stitches later,’ she wrote.
I’ve always been amazed by his strength and resilience. In just four years, he’s bravely endured no less than four visits to the hospital. Each time, he stood tall like a balance beam at daycare, demonstrating courage beyond his years.

2019 participants of “Married at First Sight,” who have been thriving since the series premiered, added a new member named Oliver to their family in October 2020.
Last summer, I was beyond thrilled when my family expanded by one more, welcoming our second son, Carter James, into our world.
Jules posted some touching photos showing herself, Cam, and their son, Ollie, lovingly caring for their newly-born baby, to verify his birth.
The mother expressed that the name Carter carries a deep spiritual meaning, symbolizing qualities such as leadership, wisdom, accountability, and ingenuity. It stands for service, values, and a strong sense of community spirit.
After approximately six years as a couple, Jules and Cam have shared insights into their time on Married at First Sight, explaining how the show can transform participants into mere shadows of themselves.
In August, Cam shared with Yahoo Lifestyle that the success we experienced felt well-deserved because we had invested a lot of time and effort into personal growth beforehand. Essentially, it seemed like the universe was saying, “Now you’re prepared, so go for it!
Jules added: ‘We’re forever grateful for our experience.
In that place, emotions ran high and we ended up shedding tears, yet we are immensely thankful for the extraordinary, enjoyable adventure which culminated in these memorable moments.

The duo additionally admitted that there is a troubling aspect associated with reality television, and it’s possible for such programs to cause harm to those involved.
Cam emphasized that if a prospective participant fails to work on their personal growth beforehand, they may emerge as less vibrant and more withdrawn than when they initially started.
If you enter without fully comprehending your identity, values, and boundaries, you risk getting swept away and questioning later if the experience was truly worthwhile.
There’s so much to it,’ he added.
