MAFS Star Spills Shocking Truth About Her Time on the Show

Previously on “Married at First Sight,” Lucinda Light, a former cast member, has confessed that her reasons for joining the Channel Nine experiment were not entirely sincere.

In the year 2024 version of the popular reality show, a star named Light, aged 44, participated and couldn’t find lasting love with groom Timothy Smith.

In conversation with the Herald Sun, Lucinda openly acknowledged that she leveraged the platform of the show not only to highlight her roles as a wedding officiant, keynote speaker, and event host, but also to seek romantic prospects.

She expressed her eagerness to meet the person who will be significant in her life, and she had imagined that they might introduce her to new experiences or connections.

‘I also did have ulterior motives to get eyes on my celebrant business so guilty as charged.’

Lucinda mentioned that she didn’t have a lot of spare time for the TV series which brought her nationwide fame.

She expressed that it doesn’t bring her joy. If someone simply seeks affection, they might as well use Tinder. To participate in such a program, one must be out of their mind.

She stated that it fails to inspire her. If one merely desires affection, they could opt for Tinder instead. It would take a person to be absurd to join a show like that.

What’s the reason for your actions? It seems like it began as innocent aboriginal flute music, but it’s evolved into something far more impactful. It has the power to shape or shatter destinies; that much is clear.

Besides her role as a celebrant, Lucinda has leveraged her popularity from MAFS (Married at First Sight) to book sold-out speaking engagements throughout the United Kingdom.

Additionally, she has partnered with Vicki Pattison from Geordie Shore to jointly host a brand-new reality show airing on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.

The reality star is also set to release her first book, Shine Your Light, next month.

‘The last six weeks have been incredible,’ Lucinda told Daily Mail Australia in November.

‘I’ve been over in Europe shooting a television show for Channel 4 UK that I absolutely loved.

The assignment they provided perfectly suits my personality. Subsequently, I traveled extensively throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, forming bonds with individuals, exchanging tales – an absolute joy!

Lucinda’s upcoming book, titled “Shine Your Light,” is scheduled for release on April 2nd. However, those eagerly anticipating juicy revelations about her time on the popular TV series may find themselves let down.

In simple terms, her latest book functions like a guide, aiming to assist readers in enhancing their emotional understanding and intelligence.

In simpler terms, Lucinda stated that the focus is on improving people’s lives, providing emotional support, and giving resources for handling life’s challenges.

Working with HarperCollins has been an outstanding experience for me, as it’s been the top project I’ve had the pleasure of being part of. My passion lies in writing, and after many years spent immersed in the self-development sector, I have a wealth of insights to pour into my work.

In addition to that, Lucinda is collaborating with Intrepid Travel to lead an expedition called “Find Your Light: Daintree & Cape Tribulation Adventure.”

Or, simply: Lucinda will be guiding the “Find Your Light: Daintree & Cape Tribulation Adventure” tour, in partnership with Intrepid Travel.

‘We’re unplugging from devices for seven days and immersing ourselves in nature,’ she revealed.

You can expect activities such as meditation, yoga, discussions on emotional intelligence, snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, and savoring local cuisine. The focus is on rejuvenation, nurturing, and bonding.

She also revealed that her decision to sign on to the reality show was quite a spontaneous one.

In a candid confession, Lucinda acknowledged that taking a daring step felt like a cosmic wake-up call. She had been leading a tranquil life, growing increasingly indifferent to her mundane existence and the predictable dating scene.

It came as quite a shock when the bride from the reality TV show admitted that she hadn’t watched a single episode of Married at First Sight prior to joining the cast herself.

She mentioned that for several years, she hasn’t been regularly watching TV or participating much in the media-related activities.

Although she wasn’t aware of the show’s bad fame, Lucinda decided to give it a try, eventually finding out it had a challenging learning process.

She jokingly remarked, “That was the most enlightening study of human behavior I’ve experienced,” reflecting on her time under the spotlight.

Reflecting on my experience with Married at First Sight recently, I shared with The Age that the journey has undeniably impacted my approach to forming new connections. A recent dating encounter serves as a prime example of this shift in perspective.

She mentioned that we had an amazing evening with a strong connection, but I believe the intensity might have been overwhelming for him.

‘After Matchmaker Marriage Show, it’s been difficult to find a partner as many men have passed me by. This could potentially cause issues, but I remain hopeful and open to finding a man in my life.’
