Since becoming a part of Married at First Sight 2025, Eliot’s path has been marked by ups and downs as his early partnership with bride Lauren Hall ignited an instant whirlwind of tension.

In a recent chat with Daily Mail Australia, Eliot shared that the on-screen portrayal didn’t tell the whole tale.

He acknowledged that he didn’t have many opportunities to reveal his true self, as his humorous side was initially present but not included in the final cut. Instead, they seemed to be looking for a villainous character, and apparently, he fit the bill.

Following his initial exit from the experiment, Eliot admitted that he had approached it with an incorrect mindset.

Instead of treating it as a dating service with strict criteria, I should have been more flexible and open-minded. By presenting a list of must-haves and walking away if they weren’t met, I made a mistake in my approach.

When the producers offered him another opportunity and paired him with newcomer Veronica Cloherty, he viewed it as a brand-new beginning.

After returning, I approached things from a fresh angle and didn’t stick to old ways so strictly. I was eager to fully participate and allow others to truly understand who I am.

Initially, Eliot found the early stages of his relationship with Veronica rather unexpectedly romantic, despite its rocky conclusion later on.

For five enchanting days, we indulged in horseback rides, admired sunsets, and enjoyed leisurely picnics. It was truly delightful, yet none of those moments made it into the final cut. I’m guessing they only included a brief snippet of a kissing scene in the trailer as a teaser.

Things changed drastically after the first dinner party.

It seemed as if she formed an opinion about me instantly, labeling me as the antagonist without much thought or consideration for change.

The situation between them rapidly deteriorated, as it seemed that Veronica, covertly meeting with Eliot’s former spouse, Lauren, was forging a partnership with her. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses more natural and easy-to-read language.)

As I found myself listening to her detailed account of actions, I couldn’t help but feel puzzled. Here I was, merely an observer, and yet it seemed as though she was projecting her own actions onto me. The footage she described just didn’t align with my perspective, leaving me to wonder if we were indeed watching the same scene unfold.

He added: ‘I really hoped the producers would show the truth—and to their credit, they did.’

When asked if Veronica got a bad edit, Eliot didn’t hold back.

The scene captured by the camera reflected the reality of the days following the first dinner party. Despite seeming to lower her defenses during the couples’ getaway, she later confessed that she was merely pretending.

She said that showing kindness towards me felt like she was wearing a mask. I’m puzzled… It seems strange to her for simple kindness to be seen as an act or performance.

He says Veronica never truly took responsibility for her behaviour.

Despite her claims of feeling isolated after the show, it seems inconsistent that she appeared on The Today Show, was a resident of Sydney, returned home regularly, and frequently contacted fellow cast members. This narrative appears to be at odds with the facts.

Regardless of the turbulence, Eliot developed robust friendships with various other brides, notably Rhiannon Disljenkovic and Jamie Marinos.

Now that the cameras have stopped rolling, Eliot says he’s not rushing back into dating.

‘I’m focusing on myself right now. I don’t do dating apps. It all just feels a bit transactional.’

And despite the occasional cheeky DM?

‘OnlyFans? That would be a flop! I’d have like four followers. It’s not for me.’

Surprisingly, Eliot says he’d go back for another round of MAFS in a heartbeat.

100% confident that I’d repeat it. Guess that makes it the third time’s lucky, doesn’t it? I’m practically a Bachelor contestant by now.

His advice for future contestants?

In simpler terms, remember that not everyone may like you. Avoid entering the show with the expectation of being adored; instead, you might find yourself playing a negative role. Regrettably, you have little influence over this outcome.

Eliot isn’t keen on profiting from his brief moment of fame, but instead, he intends to put up for auction his well-known red flag coat.

I’m thinking of holding a charity auction where the money raised will go towards the Australian Foundation For Diabetes Research. Since everyone seems to be raving about my jacket, how about we put it to good use by donating it for this cause?

Regarding his friend group, he mentions that he remains close with Rhi, Jeff, Jamie, and Adrian Araouzou. Some people have raised doubts about his relationship with Adrian, but he maintains it nonetheless.

Adrian and I sometimes have different views, but what truly stands out is his integrity and desire for personal growth. To me, these qualities hold far greater importance compared to striving for perfection.

And where does he stand with Veronica now?

‘There wasn’t any conversation, and what passed for an apology seemed insincere, lacking both acceptance of responsibility and sincerity. I can only wish that she finds clarity, as I have already moved forward with my life.’
