MAFS Star Dave Hand Slams Show, Claims Editing Made Him Look Bad

Married at First Sight Australia celebrity, Dave Hand, has spoken up against the popular series and addressed the speculations about his former spouse, Jamie Marinos, possibly dating another cast member, Eliot Donovan.

The 36-year-old man, referred to as “the hunk,” confided in TopMob that his emotional episodes on the show were triggered by his father Howard’s cancer fight. However, he asserted that a significant portion of his explanation was omitted, leaving him portrayed as an unkind husband and unpleasant individual.

In the beginning of the show, it seemed as though audience favorites Dave and Jamie had formed a deep bond that could potentially be romantic. However, fans were taken aback when Dave suddenly broke up with the 28-year-old charm, even though she openly expressed her love for him.

He shared that, although his father’s health, which has since improved with treatment, was brought up, it worsened during the shooting process. This unfortunate development, however, didn’t get broadcasted.

In Dave’s words: “[Initially], my father performed a maneuver that I found challenging, but this scene was eliminated from the final cut, making it seem as if I executed a perfect backflip over Jamie. However, what the audience doesn’t see is me expressing my feelings regarding my dad.

He further shared that he broke down while discussing the predicament with the specialists on the sofa, revealing that he was finding it challenging to carry out the experiment because of his excessive concern over his father’s ailment.

I found it challenging to rewatch the footage and see their editing choices, as the participants were aware of my struggles during the experiment. Although my friends and family know about my hardships, they weren’t portrayed accurately in the final cut; instead, it seemed like an unfair portrayal, making me appear as a poorly-behaved individual.

Dave confessed that he was completely clueless about why the video was edited, attributing it to the challenging nature of the entertainment industry. All he can do now, he stated, is to continue forward.

In that situation, I believe I performed as well as I possibly could. If I were to return there, it would be an incredibly daunting prospect, given my past struggles. However, I managed to be the support Jamie needed. Yet, in the final cut, it seems like I executed an impressive acrobatic feat, almost a backflip.

In another part of the conversation, Dave addressed the speculations about his ex-partner Jamie and Elliot’s alleged new relationship. He expressed indifference, stating plainly that he was not concerned, and added that his former love interest seemed to have been swept up in the excitement surrounding the show.

At the start, Jamie and Eliot, aged 35, were paired with Veronica Cloherty. However, their relationship raised eyebrows recently when they slept in the same bed during Daily Mail Australia’s exclusive gathering event.

Following Jamie’s assertion that Dave disappeared from her life (i.e., “ghosted” her), even though they had agreed to stay in contact after the shoot, he responded by saying: “We managed to get together and catch up, we even shared a meal at a restaurant once.

It appears we had been conversing, but I believe that, given the circumstances of being on television and the manner in which the scene was unfolding, Jamie might have been swept away by his feelings and transported back to that specific moment. This reaction, though, is perfectly understandable.

Previously this month, Jamie expressed to Yahoo Lifestyle: ‘Dave placed great emphasis on, “I don’t want to let you go and I don’t want to lose this friendship.” I firmly believe that he genuinely desired me in his life, but following our reunion, he somewhat faded from contact.’

In simpler terms, I reached out to him and said something like, “It seemed like you were very interested in having me around,” when I pointed out his lack of initiative, our conversation improved, but he hadn’t taken steps to meet up with me.

‘We did see each other for dinner once, but the friendship just dissipated.’

Eliot subsequently posted six TikTok videos taken at the Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo, which suggested they had spent the night together.

Fellow MAFS brides Awhina Rutene and Beth Kelly also appeared in several of the cheeky videos.

As a devoted follower, I must say that the video that truly fueled the gossip engine was one featuring my old buddy, Dave, casually sipping on a coconut water bottle.

One Married at First Sight viewer remarked that ‘Jamie is fond of coconut water,’ sparking a humorous reaction video from both Jamie and Eliot.

It appears they indeed spent the night together, as Jamie and Eliot were captured on video, snuggled in a hotel bed, both donning bathrobes and sunglasses.

They each held up a bottle of coconut water, mimicking a toast, and titled the video: ‘Sipping coconut water on your own is beneficial… But enjoying it with others takes it to another level.’

‘Can confirm she does love @cocobella,’ Eliot captioned the post.
