MAFS Shocker: Lauren & Eliot Return as Intruders in Twisted Plot Twist

Married At First Sight is set to drop one of the biggest twists in the show’s history.

Previously contentious former partners, Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan, will reappear on the show, but this time they won’t be paired up against each other.

Previously reported by Daily Mail Australia, Hall will team up with professional golfer Clint Rice, whereas Eliot will be partnered with Veronica Cloherty.

It’s been disclosed that the cast and team members were taken aback when Eliot unexpectedly showed up on the set, arriving tardily to a gathering and causing mouths to drop in astonishment.

‘It was like the ultimate plot twist,’ a source close to production said.

In the midst of growing familiarity with Clint, I found myself taken aback as Eliot unexpectedly appeared. The expression on Lauren’s face spoke volumes – pure astonishment. As for Clint, he didn’t seem to share my enthusiasm in the slightest.

‘Lauren’s new groom Clint let Eliot absolutely have it,’ they added.

Eliot’s stunning reappearance transpired following his unexpected departure from the study mere days after marrying Lauren, stating that he felt disconnected.

Upon his departure, I found myself among many who voiced their dissent, expressing doubts about his true intentions when he initially joined us.

It’s said that Eliot was given a substantial amount of money in the six-digit range to come back to the program, as some sources suggest the showrunners urgently wanted to inject fresh energy into the ongoing season.

‘Eliot feels like he was misunderstood,’ a well-placed source dished.

He returned with the intention of proving his innocence, but he doesn’t feel remorseful about his past actions. He never felt compatible with Lauren, and his feelings towards their relationship haven’t altered – he still wishes to end it.

Secret discussions hint at the possibility that the producers deliberately arranged for Eliot’s comeback as a significant plot twist, catching Lauren off guard when she was growing closer to Clint.

According to a source close to production, the entire situation was a ‘stitch-up’ from the start.

‘Lauren was initially hesitant about returning at all,’ the insider revealed.

Instead of having assurances for complete assistance, including drafting her vows and organizing her wedding attire, everything remained unattended until the eve of her marriage with Clint. Consequently, she found herself in a bind, hurriedly looking for a suitable dress just hours before the ceremony.

I myself, being a dedicated follower, had some apprehensions about diving back into the experiment, yet found myself persuaded to continue due to the influence of the production team.

The source went on to say, “She had her own business, and she was suddenly informed about it just two days beforehand – that was quite overwhelming for her.

Under constant persuasion, she eventually agreed. On her wedding day, she even attempted to flee with companions, but at five in the morning, producers and makeup artists appeared at her residence, insisting on moving forward with the event.

Does Eliot deserves a second chance?

Have your say

Amidst the turmoil, Lauren was developing a potentially strong relationship with Clint, an engaging golf champion recognized for his calm demeanor.

But Eliot’s return has thrown everything into turmoil.

‘Lauren and Clint were really starting to hit it off,’ the insider shared.

Clint has been a pillar of support for her, and she was on the verge of beginning anew. However, the arrival of Eliot has disrupted everything.

Additionally, Teejay Halkias and his partner Bethy Kelly, who are a married duo, make an appearance as unexpected guests in the storyline. Their scenes were captured on Tuesday.

In the midst of all the commotion, it was Daily Mail Australia that disclosed a fresh group of individuals who were admitted under a single rule – to add fuel to the fire by increasing the level of excitement and tension.

Each was carefully chosen due to their ability to create excitement within the established couples, as it was disclosed by an inside source, following the sudden departure of six contestants.

From the beginning, they were informed that their task was to generate suspense and maintain a continuous flow of excitement or conflict.

In the previous season, out of the three pairs of intruders, two of them didn’t make it through, ending their participation in the experiment rather dramatically after just a few days.

Producers emphasize that they aim to avoid a scenario similar to Ash (Galati) and Maddy (Maxwell)’s experience, in which they both left the show and ended their relationship within just three days.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
