MAFS’ Jacqui and Clint SLAM hosts in LIVE radio walkout: ‘We won’t tolerate hate!’
In an unexpected turn of events, the couple from Married at First Sight, Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice, abruptly ended their interview with Fitzy & Wippa, featuring Kate Ritchie, during a live radio broadcast on Nova on Tuesday.
The couple was questioned about their recent engagement following a five-month relationship that started post-filming. However, the interview took an unexpected twist when host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald brought up questions regarding the television show.
The radio broadcaster, aged 48, adopted a bold strategy by choosing to defend groom Ryan Donnelly and grill Jacqui, who is 30 years old, about her behavior towards him during their relationship. However, the bride refused to entertain such questioning.
Fitzy started off by saying that Clint wasn’t the initial suitor you reached out to during the show. It was clear that you were wedded to Ryan, but you did reach out to Jeff and inquired about meeting up with him, which made Rhi extremely agitated.
Jacqui promptly responded, “Let’s focus on our engagement conversation and joyful moments, as we have other matters to address at the moment that don’t involve the show.
She mentioned that they were focusing on moving forward and leaving the past behind. However, Fitzgy kept pressing the issue, bringing up the time when she shared contact information with her alternative groom during the Final Challenge.
‘These are the questions because your temptation date was the same Jacqui,’ Fitzy said.
Jacqui stated, “We addressed those queries on TikTok. In good faith, it was suggested that this conversation would have a positive tone… If you’re interested, you can check out my TikTok for the answers.
‘I want to represent Ryan here,’ Fitzy then said, which set Jacqui off.
After some muddled discussions where Jacqui and Fitzy were talking at the same time, Clint, who was 44 years old, interjected saying, “Let’s move on. We have a busy day ahead with plenty of media interactions.
However, despite being a somewhat contentious pair, co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli skillfully maintained their presence on the call, initiating questions about their engagement while subtly taking up a supportive role during the interview.
In a different wording: ‘On one hand, nice approach, Fitzy, thanks for your query. On the other hand, tough guy, Fitzy – why maintain Ryan on the program when you’re consistently highlighting his flaws, Jacqui?’
Hey there fellow enthusiasts! I can’t contain my excitement any longer; we’re about to embark on our journey, just as Fitzy hinted that the devoted Nova listeners are eagerly awaiting some clarification on this intriguing matter. Let’s dive in and unravel the mystery together!
Speaking of our engagement, I wanted to share the joyous aspects of this journey we’re currently navigating together, Clint added.

It’s clear that we’ve been receiving a significant amount of negative feedback online, but moving forward, we prefer to focus on constructive discussions. Today, let’s aim for uplifting content instead.
Jacqui concurred with her newly-engaged partner, stating: “We won’t stand for hate, harassment, or any form of such behavior anymore; instead, we will work against it.
After deciding to ease off his interrogation, Fitzy switched topics and inquired about the duration of their relationship and the amount of time Jacqui had previously spent in Tasmania with Clint prior to officially committing to each other.
However, it didn’t take much time before Fitzy tried again with this: ‘Just as you were about to leave, I felt compelled to share my feelings about your actions during your Final Vows, Jacqui. I believed the manner in which you addressed Ryan was disrespectful and condescending.’
Clint quickly declared, “This is our third attempt that’s failed. Let’s wrap it up,” before him and Jacqui terminated the conversation.
Later on, Jacqui shared with her Instagram followers that she ended an interview prematurely a few hours prior, labeling Fitzy and Wippa as “impolite,” “toxic,” and “envious.
This morning, we encountered unacceptable hosts who treated us disrespectfully once more. I made it clear that we won’t accept any negativity – we’re all about positivity here, as the world already has enough of it. This was her message.
After giving them three warnings, we ended the call and barred their contact. It’s crucial to normalize cutting off disrespectful, harmful, or envious individuals who aim to bring us down. Such negativity should not be tolerated in our lives.
* If individuals are seeking answers, they can discover them on their own. Surround yourself with positivity and people who share your joy and happiness.
In this version, I used more informal language to make it sound conversational and approachable. Additionally, I replaced the pronoun “people” with “individuals” for a slightly more formal tone. The overall meaning remains the same.
