Astute Married at First Sight viewers detected an editing flaw during the dramatic final couch conversation between Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou on Monday evening.
In a more casual and straightforward way, we could say: The man at the center of the debate, aged 31, who was matched with Awhina, also 31, during the study, joined them on the couch for a closing conversation with the experts and to revisit their marital journey on the TV screen.
In a heartfelt moment, Awhina, with tears in her eyes, seized the opportunity to inquire from Sierah Swepstone, her fellow bride, about the reasons behind her pursuit of their shared groom.
However, a major continuity error left fans scratching their heads.
For most part of the scene, the camera frequently switched to close-ups showing Sierah biting her lower lip, shaking her head disapprovingly, and occasionally grinning as Awhina shared her feelings.
In each close-up scene, the bride with the contentious hairstyle, a cascade of long brown tresses, was captured falling forward over her shoulders.
Yet, when questioned by relationship expert John Aitken about what Sierah might say to Awhina, her hair was neatly tied back, causing some spectators to infer that the conversation captured on video may not have been immediate.
On the celebrity gossip site Chattr, the post was captioned, “This was disconcerting,” referring to a rough shift in the content they shared on their social media platform.
‘She could have just floofed her hair back in that moment,’ one viewer commented on the post.
During Monday evening’s climactic finale, Adrian found himself entangled in a web of lies as he watched his marriage story play out on the screen, leaving both him and his partner in shock.
The video captured the instance where it became clear that Adrian and Sierah had secretly dined together, a fact hidden from their respective partners.
In the scene where Awhina and groom Billy Belcher both showed signs of feeling deceived, Adrian playfully inserted a humorous comment during his on-camera report.
‘What do you think I’m gonna do, steal your wife or something?’ he said.
‘I mean, I’m only human right,’ he added, boasting a cheeky smile.
Subsequently, the scene shifted to Adrian confiding in Sierah and older groom Tony Mojanovski, aged 53, following the shocking disclosure.
‘We should just do that wife swap and see if they like it tomorrow,’ he sensationally told Sierah

After screenshots of conversations between Adrian and Sierah became public, they revealed a tense exchange where Sierah, worried about Adrian having shared her plan with the show’s producers to reunite them as a couple during the experiment, inquired if he had disclosed this information to anyone.
In another part of the video, Adrian confessed to the production team that he had lied earlier about not having ever cheated, even though he had previously criticized Awhina for her past infidelity.
Additionally, it was discovered that he was engaging in flirtatious behavior with potential understudy Max during the show’s climactic contest. He openly acknowledged that she fit his preferred type.
‘Is Max someone I would hang out with? Probably,’ he said in his piece to camera.
‘She’s Awhina 2.0,’ he added, which prompted multiple gasps from the show’s other participants.
After seeing the disturbing disclosures in the video, Awhina found herself tearful, feeling shattered and utterly taken aback by her ex-husband’s behavior.
