MAFS Fans Outrage: Groom Stays On After Door-Punching Incident

Displeased fans of the TV series “Married at First Sight” are expressing their anger over Channel Nine’s contentious choice to let participant Paul Antoine continue on the program following his aggressive behavior seen this past week.

On a Wednesday, a 31-year-old individual employed in the FIFO sector confessed that he felt such intense anger when his wife, Carina Mirabile, disclosed she had previously slept with American rapper Quevo, that he vented his frustration by punching a door.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but jump on the bandwagon of disapproval alongside other viewers, expressing our collective frustration towards network Nine for permitting Paul to remain on the show and carry on his relationship with Carina, Influencer Mia Findlay included.

Findlay stated in a TikTok post that it’s irrelevant whether the male contestant who damaged the wall due to problems with his partner chooses to remain on the reality TV show.

If you allow violence in a relationship, it must lead to swift repercussions, regardless if the woman involved prefers him to stay.

Findlay emphasized that Australia was grappling with a severe domestic violence issue, and it would be commendable for Nine to demonstrate leadership by removing Paul from the program.

101 women were killed by males last year, a significant number being those in intimate relationships. It’s crucial that you uphold responsibility towards her, fellow female cast members, and our viewers who tune in, as expressed by her.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that this situation stands apart from a man causing harm or killing a woman. This latest development is just another escalation. If appropriate action isn’t taken here, it’s time to cancel this program.

Many of Findlay’s followers took to the comments section to share their agreement.

One viewer expressed their displeasure: “MAFS, it seems you’ve made some poor decisions with your contestants this season. Maybe it’s time to take a break or adjust your approach.

‘Men who are abusive don’t begin with physical violence against their partners; instead, they may initiate abuse by threatening or causing harm nearby. Such behavior is incredibly dangerous and must never be accepted.’

‘MAFS is literally a misogyny factory,’ a third person sniped.

Channel Nine told Daily Mail Australia they are providing support to the couple.

In response to the situation, Nine and Endemol Shine Australia have taken this matter very seriously. Above all else, our primary concern has always been the wellbeing and safety of the participants. After thorough discussions with Carina, she expressed her desire to stay in the experiment alongside Paul. They also mentioned that they will continue to offer support to both Carina and Paul.

This week, it was disclosed that Paul would be leaving the show following his confession about punching a door in anger during a dispute with Carina at their home.

Following the contentious broadcast, supporters of the program demanded his immediate dismissal from the show.

Yet, photographs captured by Daily Mail Australia indicate that Paul will stay on the show alongside his partner, Carina.

The pictures taken during filming in October depict the couple, as they arrive at a dinner gathering, with one hand clasped in the other.

The incident has been described as one of the most shocking moments in MAFS history.

On Wednesday, the contentious episode began as Carina and Paul found themselves in different flats following an enjoyable day spent with Rhi and Jeff.

‘I felt anxious waking up this morning, a little bit on edge and sad,’ Carina admitted.

She then explained the foursome had been enjoying a ‘lovey dovey’ day out in the sun.

However, as the Uber ride progressed on the way home, Carina disclosed that she had previously been intimate with a rapper, which led to an escalation of tension.

In the heat of my fandom, I found myself grappling with Carina’s revelation during our shared journey. Upon our return to our cozy abode, she mustered up the courage to offer an olive branch in the form of an apology for whatever had stirred discomfort within me.

‘I was cuddling him and he was like, “I need space,”‘ Carina said to camera.

‘He obviously didn’t like that. I went to bed and that’s when he got angry, punched a wall.’

In a straightforward account, Paul acknowledged that he had become angry during the argument, although hinting that Carina played a part in causing his reaction.

He found himself becoming extremely agitated, as she wouldn’t leave him alone. In the end, his frustration boiled over, leading him to create a hole in the wall with a punch.

Afterward, they both took a seat to discuss the events of the previous night’s argument, and Paul attributed part of his behavior to Carina for failing to provide him with some personal space.

Carina contradicted Paul’s assertions by stating: “That wasn’t me. You’re being overly dramatic, and it’s annoying me,” she responded, to which Paul persisted with: “So, you made me punch a wall for no reason?

In my professional opinion as a lifestyle expert, I found myself in agreement with John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Alessandra Rampolla when they collectively denounced Paul’s behavior on the show. His outburst was deemed unacceptable by all involved, which is a crucial lesson for us all to remember in maintaining respectful interactions.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine
