Initially, their romantic encounter might not have lasted, but it appears that the sparks between Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine on Married At First Sight have rekindled.

At their televised wedding, it came as a surprise to many that the couple had previously gone out on a date prior to joining the reality show.

But the couple look set to last the second time around.

It seemed that the duo was quite affectionate while purchasing items at Zetland Market, Sydney, during the shooting process.

Carina, 31, wore a pair of black leggings and matching black over a stylish long brown overcoat.

She finished her look with a pair of black Adidas sneakers and white socks.

Although her demeanor seemed effortlessly stylish, Carina’s selection of accessories was far from understated.

The reality bride had a $4000 black Chanel lambskin chain clutch around her shoulder.

In the meantime, Paul, who was thirty years old, tapped into his rocker spirit by donning a sleek black leather jacket over a white V-neck pullover shirt.

Instead of leaving his buttons unfastened to show off his hairy chest, Paul maintained the rocker motif by donning a pair of faded indigo denim jeans with intentionally worn-out details.

Paul finished his date look with white sneakers worn without socks and a pair of black sunglasses.

The couple looked chuffed to be in each other’s company as they happily perused the market stalls.

As they ambled along together, Carina and Paul seemed engrossed in discussion, even exchanging laughter at one moment while waiting for their coffee.

Carina and Paul briefly dated prior to their MAFS appearance.

In conversation with Daily Mail Australia, after the surprising disclosure, Paul clarified the confusion about a supposed ‘ghosting’ event that took place roughly a year prior to their meeting on the program.

‘I don’t think I ghosted her – we just fizzled out,’ he insisted.

‘At first, we were texting a lot and trying to plan a second date, but life got busy.’

‘She was tied up on her side, I was busy on mine, and it just fizzled out,’ he continued.

‘Looking back, I probably should’ve communicated better and told her where I was at.’

At that moment, Paul admitted he wasn’t yet equipped emotionally for a committed relationship.

In all honesty, I found myself at a point where welcoming someone new into my world didn’t seem like the best decision for me.

In retrospect, I believe I ought to have suggested to her, “Let’s call it a day,” instead, I didn’t. It seems likely that’s why she called me a ‘ghost’, as I assume.

Even though Paul had gone silent on her following their first encounter, Carina acknowledged that she was open to another opportunity with him.

As someone who values understanding and compassion, I firmly believe that everyone experiences hardships, and I strongly advocate for the granting of second opportunities. However, there’s definitely some ground to make up in our relationship.

A pivotal instance where Paul managed to gain her forgiveness was when he chose to confront their past directly, right at the wedding reception.

In a direct and open manner, I approached my parents and shared with them our past encounters and his heartfelt apology. Such courage truly endeared him to me.
