MAFS Bride Awhina Breaks Silence: Shocking Truth About Husband Adrian Revealed!

Bride Awhina Rutene from Married At First Sight has voiced her thoughts on the criticism leveled against her partner, Adrian Araouzou.

In a conversation with Daily Mail Australia, the 30-year-old care worker shared that she was taken aback, or caught off guard, by his intense response when her past was brought up during Confessions Week.

In an admission, the bride from Perth shared that she felt wounded and bewildered when he reacted with surprise over a matter they had previously talked about privately, without cameras.

Awhina shared that from the start of the study, she and Adrian discussed frankly their previous romantic experiences together.

In all honesty, he’s quite bewildered. To put it plainly, I was taken aback. During our honeymoon, we engaged in private discussions that delved into various matters and revealed more about each other.

When the discussion resurfaced in front of the camera, I found myself reacting quite differently than what Awhina might have expected from me.

‘I didn’t feel like I needed to hide anything. I wanted to be honest,’ she continued. 

Adrian claims that he places a high importance on loyalty and truthfulness, yet our past discussions suggest otherwise. However, the way he responded during Confessions Week differed significantly from how he reacted earlier in our conversation when we had discussed this topic beforehand.

Although Awhina admitted that her past actions were entirely wrong and she accepted full accountability, she found Adrian’s overt reaction puzzling.

She mentioned that not all people are comfortable being truthful in front of a camera, implying that there might be a possibility Adrian was performing for the benefit of the cameras.

If the discussion happens out of sight and feels insignificant, but when shown on camera, the response is intense, it can be very perplexing.

In retrospect, I found myself momentarily at a loss during that particular situation, yet I made the conscious decision not to breach Adrian’s faith in me, even though my feelings were bruised.

The rifts in their partnership became even more pronounced as Adrian declined to take part in the Confessions Letter exercise, which Awhina considered a significant warning sign.

Upon entering that room and finding he hadn’t written the letter yet, I assumed it was some kind of jest. I grinned at him, chuckled, thinking “Alright, where is it?” And when he admitted he hadn’t done it, I responded with a surprised, “Again? Really?” She reminisced.

‘How much am I going to keep putting in and you’re not going to even meet me halfway?’

When inquired about whether she believed Adrian was genuinely committed to their relationship, Awhina openly acknowledged harboring some uncertainties.

She remarked that it seemed as though he was more involved with treating their relationship as an experiment rather than valuing her feelings. At that moment, she didn’t feel seen or appreciated by him like a genuine person.

‘We’d experience remarkable peaks, yet there were constant valleys that followed. I was often perplexed about the ups and downs.’

Or simpler:

‘The good times were many, but the bad times were severe. I found myself puzzled a lot.’

Regardless of the difficulties they faced, Awhina and Adrian persisted on their path, moving towards their commitment ceremony with optimism, seeking a shared understanding along the way.

She admitted feeling quite apprehensive as she entered the commitment ceremony. At that moment, Adrian was her sole companion, and she desired to walk in together since she was experiencing significant anxiety and required his support.

Yet, the story didn’t conclude then, as Adrian stepped into the part of a notorious villain for the current season.

As I glance around, I can’t help but admit it – my spouse certainly thrives on the limelight! Despite the criticism he’s currently receiving, I bet he’s celebrating in his own special way, and that’s making him grin from ear to ear. I chuckled at the thought.

I can verify that he is quite content with his situation. He expressed delight at assuming the position and embracing the role as the antagonist, replacing Tim.

Regarding their relationship, Awhina disclosed that there were emotional challenges, but they never faced problems with physical closeness.

She openly admitted that intimacy wasn’t a fear for her. Regardless of the hurdles we encountered, there were always obstacles along the way, she disclosed.

‘Viewers are just going to have to watch and find out.’

Despite everything, Awhina has no regrets about supporting Adrian throughout the experiment.

In the course of our bond, I always encourage and support my partner. It is essential that you serve as your partner’s most enthusiastic supporter. This was her advice.

In the aftermath of the show, there have been whispers that Adrian was seen with a new companion, yet Awhina handled it gracefully, even poking fun at the Aussies wanting her to dye her hair a different color.

She jokingly hinted, “People are asking me to color my hair brown – who knows, I might have been wearing a wig! Perhaps I gave in to the group influence here in Australia.
