She informed AAP that she’s challenging the unwarranted and troublesome lawsuit, as it’s based on untruthful declarations and is a response to her victory in court.

The supposed falsehoods involve her being accused of harassing him via private messages, as well as the claim that their relationship lasted for nine months while she maintains it was only a three-month romance.

Under the New South Wales Crimes (Personal and Domestic Violence) Act, the nature of domestic relationships is not contingent on their length.

According to Burfoot, Donnelly is manipulating court procedures intentionally, creating deception for the public via news outlets. He also expressed his viewpoint on social media that this action unnecessarily drains the court’s valuable resources.

On Wednesday, the previous contestant from a reality TV show about weddings attended Campbelltown Local Court, accompanied by attorney Shirin Razi of Azadi Lawyers, to submit an appeal for a protective order.

In the latest season of the popular Australian reality TV show, Donnelly and Burfoot were teamed up. However, they decided to part ways during a heated Final Vows ceremony filled with insults.

In a turn of events, the quarrels that were initially confined to the television set, escalated to the courtroom. Specifically, Burfoot received a temporary injunction in Tasmania, which forbids Donnelly from discussing her on social media platforms.

In response, Donnelly took action by filing a request for a restraining order related to domestic violence against Burfoot, based in Sydney.

The former reality TV personality, accompanied by his spokesperson Ms. Razi, shared with the media that he endured significant damage and received threatening communications following the malicious accusations made against him on the internet by Burfoot.

Speaking outside the courtroom, he stated, “Someone has attempted to sabotage my life, my professional prospects, and partnerships by making baseless accusations. It’s important to remember that men can also be victims. At one point, I was genuinely terrified.

‘I’ve had a lot of suffering, a lot of harm, as a result of these claims online,’ he continued.

‘There is no foundation for it. It’s vicious, malicious… justice should be served.’

He stated: ‘Regardless of gender, individuals should not be allowed to evade truthfulness… This issue holds great importance for me.’

Donnelly sought a legal restriction, aiming to prevent his television co-star from posting any information regarding him or their mutual friends on social media platforms for the next two years.

In addition, it would prohibit Burfoot from engaging in acts of assault, threats, stalking, intimidation, or damaging any property belonging to Donnelly, which also includes causing harm to his pet dog, Freya.

Should the AVO be issued, she would not be allowed to get near him or attempt to reach out to Donnelly personally. However, she could only communicate with him through her attorney.

In Tasmania, where Burfoot resides alongside his MAFS partner and now-fiancé Clint Rice, a court summons was issued for him on Wednesday. However, rather than appearing personally, he submitted an email expressing objections to the requested restraining order.

Judge Shane McAnulty expressed his reluctance to issue the order without the party present, asking both sides to prepare their arguments for when the case resumes in court on June 24.

Standing outside the courthouse, Donnelly expressed a desire to proceed with his life while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining his protection.

He expressed his view that the hearing was worthwhile, occupying the court’s valuable time, and he strongly felt he had a highly robust defense for suing his on-screen spouse for defamation.

The television personality remained silent when asked if he would cease sharing content related to Burfoot or leave social media altogether, instead emphasizing that Married at First Sight is a “show capable of bringing about remarkable transformations in people.

According to court records viewed by The Daily Telegraph, Donnelly asserted that he had been sent distressing comments from his online followers due to allegations Burfoot has posted about him on the internet.

According to the records, Donnelly claims the defendant has made public allegations against him, including accusations of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and posing a threat to women’s safety. He asserts that he is performing a ‘service to Australia’ by bringing these matters into the public eye.

Because Burfoot has over 100,000 online followers… Donnelly is genuinely worried about potential future events, having received numerous threatening messages sent to him personally by individuals who have watched her content.

Donnelly cautioned reporters outside the court that being linked to certain statements Burfoot made about him online could potentially be harmful.

He assured us that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from occurring again. Earlier, he admitted that he was quite fearful about it.

Just a few weeks have passed since Burfoot received a temporary restraining order from a court in Tasmania, which was issued against Donnelly.

Restrictions have been imposed on Donnelly, disallowing him from posting comments about Burfoot on social media platforms, following their prolonged exchange of jibes on Instagram and various publications.

In the usual drama seen on MAFS, it was claimed by Burfoot during his hearing at the Launceston court that Donnelly’s behavior had intensified beyond normal levels.

Besides quoting Donnelly’s social media updates, she also read out an interview that Daily Mail Australia published with her a month ago.

She told the magistrate that Donnelly was claiming she had accused him of not giving consent.

Miss Cure, who admitted she didn’t follow Married at First Sight or reality television in general, was content that Burfoot had been negatively affected by Donnelly’s public statements. However, she cautioned Miss Cure that deceiving a court is an extremely grave offense.

Burfoot requested the magistrate to issue a ruling that would prohibit Donnelly, a resident of New South Wales, from disseminating information or material concerning her.

However, she was warned that if he was prohibited from speaking or acting, the remaining episodes of MAFS might not be broadcasted.

‘I’m happy for the show to go ahead,’ Burfoot responded, per the Canberra Times.

Ms. Cure issued a temporary decree prohibiting Donnelly from making both direct and indirect threats, causing harassment, abusing, or publishing disparaging content on social media platforms.

Burfoot, with her partner and fellow MAFS cast member Rice, was cautioned about self-use of social media, yet no order was directed towards her personally.

In one of the most unusual episodes in the entire Nine series, Burfoot and Donnelly’s Final Vows segment included some remarkably strange scenes. Burfoot publicly accused Donnelly of orchestrating an assault by a group, rather than a simple attack.

Leaving Donnelly at the altar, Burfoot yelled, “Thank you for all your critiques. It seems you haven’t developed at all. Farewell, you dreadful woman.”
