Madonna hits back at son Rocco Ritchie after he claimed she ‘made him’ hang a photo of her in his Chelsea artist’s studio

Madonna responded to her son Rocco Ritchie after he said she insisted he display a photo of her in his Chelsea art studio.

The 25-year-old painter recently showed fans around his stylish west London studio after the opening of his new exhibition, ‘Talk Is Cheap,’ on Sunday night.

His famous mother seemed upset when he shared a photo featuring her alongside pictures of himself, his father (director Guy Ritchie), and well-known artists like Francis Bacon, Lucien Freud, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

He pointed out a memorable photo of Madonna – wearing a vintage suit, tie, and Wellington boots during an interview with 72 magazine – and explained, ‘I had to include my mom. She would have been upset if I hadn’t.’

She angrily replied to the post, writing: “Excuse me, did you really say she had to be placed in care because she wouldn’t be happy otherwise? That’s unacceptable! Take it back!”

Rocco’s studio tour took place after the opening of his new art exhibition in a Soho warehouse on Sunday. The event marked the first time his parents had been seen together publicly since their difficult divorce in 2008.

The couple wed at Skibo Castle in Scotland in December 2002, but their marriage ended in divorce six years later. They cited differences they couldn’t resolve, and the breakup became public knowledge.

Madonna and her ex-husband recently engaged in a public dispute, with Madonna accusing him of being emotionally immature and he countering that she was overly focused on seeking fame.

In 2008, The Mirror reported that Guy had shared with a friend details about his difficult divorce and the resulting negativity.

According to a source, he confided in friends that he longed for a simple family life. However, Madonna seemed to prioritize the glamorous aspects of being a celebrity, making a normal relationship impossible.

She’s overly concerned with how people see her, and she seems determined to be viewed as a worldwide expert who can predict the future.

On Sunday, Rocco shared a message on social media honoring his parents, and also recognized the financial advantages he’s had as the son of famous and successful people.

He posted a photo with Madonna and Guy, and acknowledged that he understands why some people might criticize him, saying he doesn’t fault them for doing so.

I’m proud of who I am, but even more proud to have both my parents there supporting me. I believe my work should demonstrate my abilities, which is why I titled the show ‘Talk Is Cheap’.

Rocco became well-known as an artist using the name Rhed, choosing a pseudonym to build his reputation instead of relying on his existing fame.

He’s stopped using that name for some art shows, but ‘Rhed’ was how he first became known as an artist.

Rocco and his parents, who were married from December 22, 2000, to 2008, were spotted chatting animatedly at the event and seemed to be on good terms, which was clearly important to him.

Madonna is a mother of six children. They include Lourdes, age 29, whose father is actor and trainer Carlos Leon, and Rocco, who shares a father with Guy Ritchie. She also has adopted children David, 20, and Mercy, 18, as well as 13-year-old twins, Stella and Estere.
