Madonna was noticeably discreet as she attended the Chelsea versus Liverpool match at Stamford Bridge stadium on Saturday with her younger boyfriend, Akeem Morris.
The 67-year-old Queen of Pop went largely unnoticed in the crowd with her 29-year-old partner, as they cheered on their London football team to a 2-1 victory.
Stepping away from her typically glamorous look and striking clothes, Madonna was seen without makeup as she settled into the stadium seats wearing a black winter coat.
Akeem also dressed for the autumn weather as he wrapped up next to her.
This isn’t the first time the two have gone to a football match together; they previously supported Chelsea in October 2024.
People began speculating about a romance between the two in July 2024, after the singer posted pictures of them enjoying Independence Day festivities in New York City.

They’ve been acquainted with each other for quite some time, with evidence dating back to at least August 2022. That’s when they were photographed together for the cover of Paper magazine.
This event follows her recent announcement that she was diagnosed with a serious, life-threatening illness which required four days of intensive care in the hospital.
As a lifestyle expert, I was really concerned to hear that Madonna was hospitalized with a bacterial infection back in mid-2023. It was definitely a shock, and understandably, she had to pause her world tour to focus on recovery. We’re all wishing her a continued speedy recovery and hoping to see her back on stage soon! You can find more information about her health here.
She used her social media accounts to let her fans know she was getting better and had left the hospital.
It’s been two years since the health scare, and in her debut podcast interview, Madonna has shared that she contracted an infection which developed into sepsis. She was critically ill and required four days in intensive care, relying on a ventilator to breathe.
During an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Madonna explained that she developed a bacterial infection while preparing for a tour. She stated: ‘I was rehearsing for a tour, and I got a bacterial infection.’
Just a moment ago, I was feeling fine and moving around, but suddenly I found myself in the intensive care unit, unconscious for four days. After I left the hospital, they removed the breathing machine, and I was able to breathe independently. I also had sepsis, which is a very dangerous condition and can be fatal.
‘Everybody recovers at a different rate, and I’ve always seen myself as Superwoman.

I told myself, “Okay, I can handle this. I’ll get back on track and start rehearsing again,” but I just didn’t have the strength or energy. I couldn’t even get out of bed, and I didn’t know when it would all end.
Sepsis is a dangerous medical condition that happens when the body’s response to an infection goes into overdrive, releasing chemicals that can be harmful. It’s a life-threatening situation requiring immediate attention. Early recognition is crucial.
These substances harm the body’s tissues and organs, potentially causing shock, organ failure, and ultimately, death.
Organ failure and death are more likely if sepsis is not recognised early and treated immediately.
In 2023, Madonna shared that she was recovering and intended to reschedule her Celebration Tour for later that year.
I was so touched by her message at the time. She wrote, ‘Thank you for your positive energy.’ It meant the world to me knowing she felt all the prayers and words of healing and encouragement we were sending her way. She specifically said she felt our love, and that just warmed my heart.
‘I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings.
The first thing I thought of when I woke up in the hospital was my kids. Right after that, I worried about letting down the people who had purchased tickets to my tour.
I also didn’t want to fail the people who had worked so hard alongside me over the past few months to bring my show to life. It’s really important to me to not disappoint anyone.
I’m currently prioritizing my health and recovery, and I’m working towards regaining my strength. I promise to return as soon as possible.
I’m planning to move the North American part of the tour to start in Europe in October. Essentially, we’re rescheduling the North American dates and kicking things off in Europe then.
‘I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support. Love, M.’
Madonna’s first marriage was to Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989.
Although they had an infamously tempestuous romance, they have become firm friends since.
She then married Guy Ritchie, the director of Sherlock Holmes, in 2000. They were together until 2008 and had two children, Rocco and David Banda, during their marriage.
She has two children: her daughter, Lourdes, also known as Lola Leon, who is 28 years old, and her son, Rocco Ritchie, 25. Lourdes’s father is fitness trainer Carlos Leon, and Rocco’s father is her former husband, Guy.
Madonna is also a mother to four children adopted from Malawi: her son David, her daughter Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere.
