Madonna was spotted getting cozy with her younger boyfriend, Akeem Morris, during a romantic gondola ride in Venice. She shared a peek at her luxurious trip on Instagram on Tuesday.
The 67-year-old pop superstar seemed incredibly happy while enjoying an Aperol Spritz with her partner during a romantic evening by the canal.
Madonna has spent the last week in the city filming scenes for the second season of her project, The Studio, with actress Julia Garner, known for her role in Ozark.
I was absolutely blown away when the singer revisited one of her most legendary performances! She brought back the incredible gondola scene from her ‘Like a Virgin’ video – the one from 1984 – and did it with Julia, the actress who’s playing her in the new movie. It was such a special moment!
Madonna and Julia coordinated their looks, both wearing striped white and navy T-shirts paired with navy blazers and straw hats.
The pair also practiced their dance routine in a studio, and later Madonna was photographed on a boat wearing a fur shawl and long lace gloves.
She wrote: ‘Venice was Fun…………’
Madonna is returning to acting after a 20-year break with a role in the new film, The Studio.
She last had a significant acting role in 2006, providing a voice in the animated film Arthur and the Invisibles, directed by French filmmaker Luc Besson.
She previously won a Golden Globe for starring in the 1995 movie musical Evita.
According to her IMDb profile, the most recent acting role she had was a brief appearance in a 2003 episode of the popular TV show, Will & Grace.
Seth Rogen created and stars in the new show, The Studio, playing a stressed-out studio executive. The cast also features Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn.
Catherine O’Hara, a beloved comedic actress, sadly passed away in January at the age of 71 after fighting rectal cancer. She was a standout performer in the series.
Madonna hinted at her involvement in a new project last week by sharing a photo on Instagram Stories of herself reading a script while on a gondola.
It was captioned: ‘The Italian Job.’
She became famous in both movies and music during the 1980s, notably appearing alongside Rosanna Arquette in the comedy film Desperately Seeking Susan.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Arquette remembered that the singer, originally from Michigan, became incredibly famous globally right around the time they were filming in 1985.
She admitted it was a really challenging and stressful time, but she managed it well. She wasn’t famous internationally at that point, but achieving that level of stardom happened as they worked on the project together.
Arquette remembered that she was already successful, but what really struck him was seeing her on the cover of Rolling Stone while they were on set – it was a ‘Wow!’ moment.
Julia will soon be playing Madonna in a long-awaited biopic about the star.
She reassured everyone last September that the project was still moving forward, despite some setbacks in production.
‘I can’t say too much about it, but yes, it’s a work in progress,’ she told W Magazine at the time.
Madonna has been persistent in her years-long effort to make a movie about her life.
In 2023, she began working on a film about her life, titled ‘Who’s That Girl,’ referencing her popular 1987 movie and song of the same name.
The movie originally started with Diablo Cody helping to write the script, which at the time was called Little Sparrow.
However, the hitmaker pivoted her focus to zero in on her international Celebration tour.
In 2024, she collaborated with Erin Cressida Wilson to write the majority of the screenplay and hoped Jennifer Garner would star in it. Later that year, she publicly expressed her disappointment with the challenges she faced trying to get the film made, using social media to voice her frustrations.
After facing days of difficulty in Los Angeles and hearing producers and agents explain why my movie wouldn’t work, I came to the realization that I’ll constantly face obstacles in life.
The famous performer explained she’d been developing the project for four years, but many people told her to simplify it and reduce its scope.
The caption went on to say that things aren’t easy for me, but I’m trying to stay positive. It challenges me to be creative and find new solutions, because my life hasn’t been typical, and I can’t approach things the usual way.
