Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs. “Madam Secretary.”
Actors Leoni and Daly, who played roles on the CBS political drama together, are now married in real life, transforming their on-screen relationship into a true one. The couple, aged 59 and 69 respectively, exchanged vows during a private ceremony over the weekend, according to The Times’ confirmation on Tuesday.
Leoni and Daly started dating back in the summer of 2014, portraying characters Elizabeth McCord, the U.S. Secretary of State, and her husband Henry McCord, a scholar, on the show “Madam Secretary”. This series was broadcasted on CBS from September 2014 to December 2019.
A spokesperson for Leonie declined to provide more information regarding the details of the ceremony where the newly-married actors exchanged vows, however, People magazine claimed that the small, private wedding ceremony occurred in New York City, attended only by their closest relatives.

Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey have recently welcomed a new family member, their baby girl, a year following their wedding in Rhode Island. Here’s what the proud mother had to share about this joyous event.
Leoni started a new relationship with Daly soon after her divorce from actor David Duchovny became final. They had tied the knot in 1997, having first met on “The Tonight Show.” Their union has produced two grown-up children, West Duchovny and Kyd Miller Duchovny who are also actors. Prior to David Duchovny, Leoni was married to TV producer Neil Joseph Tardio Jr. from 1991 to 1995.
Daly remarried, this time to Leoni; he had been married before to theater actress Amy Van Nostrand and they have children named Sam and Emelyn together.
Prior to their encounter on “Madam Secretary,” both Leoni and Daly had built up their acting careers with a mix of TV and film roles. Leoni joined the CBS series boasting films like “Bad Boys,” “Spanglish,” and “Jurassic Park III.” She also featured in shows such as “The Naked Truth” and “Flying Blind.” Daly’s portfolio includes TV series like “Wings” and “Private Practice,” and he lent his voice to various Superman animated projects.

As a passionate moviegoer putting words to my thoughts, I’m thrilled to share the heartwarming news that Jacqui Heinrich, a esteemed senior White House correspondent for Fox News, has accepted the proposal of GOP Representative Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania. The picturesque setting for this beautiful moment was none other than a field bursting with the enchanting hues of French lavender.
During an interview with the “Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast in March 2024, Daly discussed his character’s love life on “Madam Secretary” with the show’s host. He expressed that his perspective on starting a serious relationship later in life shifted significantly after meeting the character Leoni.
“It’s the deepest, most fun, most truly intimate relationship I’ve ever had,” he said.
