Machine Gun Kelly admits self-accountability for the unexpected separation from his ex-fiancée, Megan Fox, mere months prior to the arrival of their first child together.
Last November, the 35-year-old musician and the 39-year-old actress, who was pregnant at the time, surprised their fans by ending their relationship. There were whispers that she discovered messages with other women on his phone, fueling speculation about the breakup.
On his latest album, Lost Americana, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) openly acknowledges and accepts responsibility for the breakup, stating “I destroyed our home,” and also confessed that he sought treatment in rehab privately last year.
In the lyrics of “On Track Treading Water,” he expresses: “This is the final apology you’ll hear from me / The last drop of sorrow you’ll shed for my tears / I shattered this home, and like my father, I’ll breathe my last breath alone.

Elsewhere on the track, he vows to transform for the sake of their shared daughter, Saga, who joined their family back in March.

In a recent discussion, the artist known for using familiar phrases shared details about his hidden recovery period in a rehabilitation facility towards the end of last year, following their separation.
He shared with The New York Times’ Popcast podcast that he had spent the entire months of December and late November in a rehabilitation center for Christmas and New Year’s. Upon his release, there was much public discussion about him and his private affairs.
Interestingly enough, neither Megan nor I have uttered a word on the matter. Surprisingly, it’s possible that there was no drama at all, as we’ve both remained silent about it.
It’s all claims and things that have happened out of our control, I guess. I came home to this.’

There’s been talk that the couple might have reignited their relationship recently, as they were spotted traveling together to Costa Rica with Saga. However, they haven’t publicly verified these rumors just yet.
In addition, he is the father of Casie, who is 16 years old, from a previous relationship, whereas Fox shares custody of three sons with her husband, Brian Austin Green.
Kelly has been sharing parental responsibilities with his former fiancée since their separation around Thanksgiving, and he had only positive things to say about her when they spoke on the Today Show recently.
He enthusiastically praised Megan, calling her a wonderful mother, a few days after suggesting they might be reconciling. The actress and him had an up-and-down relationship lasting four years.
He expressed great excitement, saying, ‘She’s doing fantastic! I can’t wait for the arrival of their first child together, who also happens to be her fourth baby and his second.’
On the morning show, he also opened up about the sentimental meaning behind their daughter’s name.
He explained that Saga’s name represents him and Fox’s journey of having a baby together.
They previously experienced a pregnancy loss, and the pair hinted about the devastating experience.
He mentioned this past week that she keeps reappearing and vanishing, referring to their daughter’s name. “Saga,” he explained, symbolizes the fact that her life is like an epic tale.
He added: ‘I’m also of Norwegian heritage so that’s the Nordic goddess of storytelling.’
He also revealed what he hopes their daughter’s profession will be in the future.
‘I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her,’ he said.
Machine Gun Kelly and Fox began their romantic journey in the year 2020, during filming for the 2021 crime thriller “Midnight in the Switchgrass,” where they first connected.
Towards the end of March, they brought their “tiny cosmic sprout,” Saga, into their lives. After spending more than a year together, at the start of 2022, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) popped the question to Megan Fox.
In early 2023, however, the ‘twin flames’ briefly split before reconciling shortly thereafter.
In the same year, Fox later disclosed that she had experienced a miscarriage, which she poignantly shared in her poetry collection titled “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.
In February 2024, the singer appeared to reference his loss in the song titled “Don’t Let Me Go.” The lyrics read: “I struggle with the thought / That my touch was not there when we miscarried our child.
In November 2024, Fox revealed her pregnancy and anticipated the birth of a “rainbow baby,” however, their relationship ended soon afterwards. (A “rainbow baby” is a term used to describe a newborn born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or loss of an older sibling.)
