Macaulay Culkin’s fiancee Brenda Song SLAMS Alaska Airlines for ‘splitting up’ their family on first-class flight

Brenda Song publicly criticized Alaska Airlines, saying they interfered with a family vacation she and her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin, were taking.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old actress shared on Instagram that the airline separated her and her husband, 45, from their sons, Dakota, four, and Carson, three, despite having booked first-class seats as a family.

She further criticized the airline for allegedly ‘giving away’ their seats ‘with no warning.’

Song, 37, shared in a detailed post that she had booked her family’s plane tickets six months ahead of time to celebrate one of her sons’ birthday.

She finished her post by mentioning Culkin and encouraged others to avoid flying with the airline in the future.

The actor from Home Alone shared a review of their flight by Song to his Instagram Story, adding the humorous comment: ‘You don’t want to upset a Brenda…’

As a travel pro, let me tell you, I was shocked when Alaska Airlines gave away our family’s seats the morning of our flight! We booked six tickets months in advance – it was for my son’s birthday, and we were so excited. To have that happen with no warning was just incredibly frustrating, and honestly, a little unbelievable.

An Alaska Airlines representative said that what happened to Song was ‘unacceptable’ and didn’t represent the level of service they strive for.

Alaska Airlines has apologized for causing inconvenience to travelers and also contacted Song privately.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Alaska Airlines for further comment.

Song and Culkin have been together since 2017 after meeting on the set of their film Changeland. 

They got engaged in early 2022, after having their first son in April 2021 and before welcoming their second son in December 2022.

This family vacation follows Culkin’s recent comments about being a father and his relationship with Song.

Macaulay Culkin told WWD in December 2025 that he never imagined himself as a ‘suburban dad in Crocs,’ but becoming a parent completely changed his perspective.

‘I wasn’t ever really a Crocs guy,’ he explained. ‘But when I started having kids, I found out that they are kind of really convenient and cozy.’ 

Before becoming a dad, the actor had often said he wouldn’t become one of those stereotypical parents.

He admitted he’d always told himself he’d never become one of those dads who wear Crocs, but life happened. ‘And here I am,’ he said with a laugh.

Culkin realized he wanted to join the trend after seeing his oldest child wearing a pair of bright pink shoes, so he got some for himself.

He jokingly said he bought a pair of pink Crocs, and then, to his surprise, paparazzi photos surfaced of him wearing them while taking his child to school.

He’s become more relaxed about shoes, but still needs to improve when it comes to taking care of himself around the house.

Culkin shared that Song, now 37, taught him even the fundamentals of personal hygiene.

He explained to People magazine in 2024 that his interest in skincare began when Brenda started applying products to his face.

Song says her fiancé is surprisingly easygoing, even admitting he doesn’t bother with any skincare at all. She said it with a laugh.

The actress, known for her role on the Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, jokingly said she considers it a win if Macaulay Culkin even washes his face before going to sleep.
