Macaulay Culkin, known for his role as Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone movies, has shared his opinion on the debate about whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie – and it might surprise some people. While the 1988 action film starring Bruce Willis takes place during Christmas and includes holiday music, Culkin believes it doesn’t actually qualify as a Christmas movie, going against what many believe.
Despite the popular belief that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, Macaulay Culkin strongly disagrees and doesn’t seem to be changing his mind. He firmly stated on the Mythical Kitchen‘s “Last Meals” YouTube series, “No, no, it’s not! Don’t fight me!” He explained that while the movie takes place during Christmas, the plot would work just as well with another holiday. He contrasted this with Home Alone, which he believes is specifically tied to the Christmas season. Culkin jokingly referred to himself as “the godfather of Christmas” and asserted that his opinion on the matter carries weight.
