M80’s Budega receives two year suspension from BLAST R6 events

Budega’s suspension will lift post Six Invitational 2027

BLAST, the tournament organizer, has imposed a two-year ban on coach Matheus ‘Budega’ Figueiredo for disregarding the tournament rules during the Six Invitational 2025, even after multiple reminders.

Budega’s suspension to last two years

After a disagreement on February 9th during the Darkzero and M80 match, coach Matheus ‘Budega’ Figueiredo from M80 was given a severe disciplinary action. This means he will be banned from participating in BLAST R6 for two years starting immediately, with his ban lifting at the end of the Six Invitational 2027. Furthermore, an $10,000 fine in US dollars has been imposed on team M80.

In the wake of his unrespectful conduct towards tournament officials following an incident, Igor Vivas, manager of the M80 team, was given a minor penalty for misconduct and issued a warning.

The Brazilian coach can re-enter the competitive arena not before two years have passed. That means he won’t be able to participate in any competitive team until the Six Invitational 2027. Additionally, M80’s Team Manager, Igor Vivas, has been given a light disciplinary action with a warning for minor misconduct.

During the match against DarkZero, M80 Coach, Budega persisted in talking to his team past the designated time limit, disregarding repeated cautions from the officials. Ignoring these warnings, he carried on conversing with the players. Consequently, the administrators decided to exclude him from Six Invitational 2025. This penalty was also imposed due to Budega’s confrontation with the Dark Zero players and coach, which went against the ethos of the game.

Budega, a competitor, warned he might sue Pengu, who backed Ubisoft’s choice to exclude the M80 coach from the Six Invitational 2025. However, this isn’t the first time Budega has faced disciplinary measures due to violating tournament regulations. Previously, he had been given a one-year ban and fined $5,000. Ubisoft immediately banned Budega for two years just an hour after his team was knocked out of the Six Invitational 2025. The M80 team lost to CAG in the lower bracket on both maps they played.
