M7 World Championship Swiss Stage Day 7 recap – Quick but painful matches

Just in case you didn’t get to watch, here’s a quick rundown of what happened on Day 7 of the MLBB M7 World Championship’s Swiss Stage! It all went down in Jakarta, Indonesia, and it was awesome.

The seventh day of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M7 World Championship’s Swiss Stage saw some fast-paced and dramatic matches. Team Spirit, Yangon Galacticos, and ONIC ID have earned their places in the Knockout Stage. Sadly, CFU Gaming, CG Esports, and Team Falcons will no longer continue in the tournament, as their world championship journey has come to an end.

That said, here is a quick recap of what happened in the M7 World Championship Swiss Stage Day 7.

M7 Swiss Stage Day 7 Recap

The last day of competition in the Swiss Stage saw six teams battling for the final three spots in the Knockout Stage of the M7 World Championship.

Team Spirit vs CFU Gaming

Game 1

Team Spirit started strong in their first match of Day 7 in the M7 Swiss Stage, choosing heroes and a strategy designed to immediately pressure CFU Gaming. Team Spirit’s player, KidBomba, selected Valentina for the EXP lane – a hero known for copying opponents’ powerful abilities – which quickly proved to be a difficult matchup for CFU. CFU’s EXP laner, Wadu, playing Sora, had trouble competing, as KidBomba consistently played better. KidBomba finished with an impressive KDA of 1/1/15, and Team Spirit convincingly won the first game with a score of 18–2.

Game 2

The second game unfolded much like the first. Anton “Hiko” Pak quickly gained an advantage playing Granger, achieving a Savage – a multiple kill – by the 12-minute mark. While CFU’s Wadu tried to rally his team with a Yu Zhong pick, a crucial error during the fight for Lord at 13 minutes proved to be a turning point. Team Spirit took full advantage, eliminating the entire enemy team and leaving their base undefended. They then confidently destroyed the enemy crystal, winning the game and securing a 2–0 victory, which earned them a place in the Knockout Stage.

CG Esports vs Yangon Galacticos

Game 1

The first game saw Yangon Galacticos make an unexpected pick with Freya in the Gold Lane, while CG Esports chose Claude, hoping for a strong late-game performance. These different strategies quickly became clear, as Yangon Galacticos played aggressively, making team fights very difficult for CG Esports. By 12 minutes, Yangon Galacticos had a large lead – nine kills and 11,000 gold ahead – and CG Esports couldn’t find a way to turn the game around. Unable to recover, CG Esports lost, giving Yangon Galacticos a 1-0 lead in the series.

Game 2

Facing elimination, CG Esports took a risk in Game 2 by having Muhammad Danial “Ciku” Mohamad play Cecilion in the mid-lane – a strategy that needed the game to go long to be effective. Yangon Galacticos, however, chose a more standard lineup focusing on Sora and Claude. While CG initially held their own, Yangon Galacticos gained control of the map and a gold advantage after ten minutes. The risky Cecilion pick didn’t work out, and a lost team fight at 22 minutes sealed CG’s fate, allowing Yangon Galacticos to win the game and the entire series.

Team Falcons vs ONIC ID

Game 1

The first game was a high-risk, high-reward match from the start of Day 7 in the M7 Swiss Stage. Team Falcons aggressively pursued early advantages, even if it meant sacrificing players, but this strategy quickly failed. ONIC ID seized the opportunity, gaining a substantial lead of over 4,000 gold and eight kills within the first seven minutes. ONIC then relentlessly attacked Falcons, repeatedly pushing into their base. Kairi’s impressive performance on Hayabusa, including a triple kill and a team wipe, was pivotal. This allowed ONIC ID to quickly take control of the map, destroy Falcons’ outer turrets, and secure a win in under 12 minutes by pushing down the middle lane.

Game 2

Game 2 was a completely different story. After a shaky start in Game 1, Team Falcons chose a much more aggressive strategy. Bien “Boyet” Chumecera surprised everyone by playing Hayabusa, a hero he doesn’t usually pick. With Muath “Cuffin” Alkoraini’s Zhuxin and Ayman “Sanji” Alqarni’s Gloo helping to control team battles, Falcons quickly gained the upper hand. By 11 minutes, they had a significant lead, with 14 kills and a 10,000-gold advantage. ONIC ID managed to get their second Lord at 18 minutes, but it cost them several players. Their attempt to come back failed, and Falcons patiently waited for the next Lord, securing it easily. With their large lead, Falcons pushed down the middle lane, forcing a final deciding game.

Game 3

With a spot in the next round on the line, ONIC ID played their best in Game 3. Kairi chose Joy, and Shevenko “Skylar” Tendean selected Granger. Skylar quickly gained a huge advantage with a strong team setup, getting eight kills in the first ten minutes. ONIC ID built such a large lead that Team Falcons were mostly stuck defending their base. Although Falcons played a solid defense, they couldn’t turn the game around, and ONIC ID convincingly won Game 3, earning their place in the next stage.
