This year’s M6 World Championship stands as the second major Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition, surpassed only by the Mid Season Cup 2024 which was previously held in Riyadh. It’s the most esteemed global tournament of the season.

twenty-three squads will be involved in the tournament, with eight of them earning a spot through the Wildcard and another fifteen teams advancing directly to the Swiss Stage. Here’s the complete roster of participating teams:

Wildcard Stage

In the initial stage of the competition, eight wildcard teams will be selected at random and placed into two groups. Each team will compete in Round Robin matches, which are best-of-three series. The top-performing team from each group will progress to a decisive Best-of-five (Bo5) stage, where they’ll battle it out for one position in the Swiss Stage.

Swiss Stage

In the Swiss Stage, sixteen teams will be paired off at random for matches from Round 1 through Round 5. Each team competes against their assigned opponent.

Round 1

  • The 16 teams will be randomly matched. Matches will be played in a best-of-1 (Bo1) format.

Round 2

  • The 8 teams that have 1-0 aggregate will randomly match. Matches will be played in a best-of-1 (Bo1) format.
  • The 8 teams that have 0-1 aggregate will randomly match. Matches will be played in a best-of-1 (Bo1) format.

Round 3

  • The 4 teams that have 2-0 aggregate will randomly match. The winner of this match will advance to the Knockout stage. Matches will be played in best-of-3 (Bo3) format.
  • The 8 teams that have 1-1 aggregate will randomly match. Matches will be played in a best-of-1 (Bo1) format.
  • The 4 teams that have 0-2 aggregate will randomly match. The Loser of this match will be eliminated. Matches will be played in best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

Round 4

  • The 6 teams that have 2-1 aggregate will randomly match. The winner of this match will advance to the Knockout stage. Matches will be played in best-of-3 (Bo3) format.
  • The 6 teams that have 1-2 aggregate will randomly match. The Loser of this match will be eliminated. Matches will be played in best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

Round 5

  • The 6 teams that have 2-2 aggregate will randomly match. The winner of this match will advance to the Knockout stage while the losing teams will be eliminated. Matches will be played in best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

Knockout Stage

8 teams that meet the qualification criteria will engage in a double-knockout tournament where the best-of-5 series will be played. The victorious squads progress via the upper bracket, whereas those who lose are moved to the lower bracket.

In a bracket system, teams who lose in the upper part (Upper Bracket) will move down to the lower part (Lower Bracket), whereas those who lose in the lower part are out of the competition.

In a tournament, the matches for the upper quarterfinals are decided using a Best-of-Three series, whereas the championship final is contested over a Best-of-Seven series.

The grand total of $1,000,000 will be divided among all competing teams according to their final positions, and we’ll share the specifics of how it’s distributed later on.

Spectators have a chance to catch the M6 World Championship Semifinals and Finals taking place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. The special discounted ticket sales occurred from October 5-7, with more details about the regular sale period and ticket prices due to be revealed later this month.

However, there is still no official information on the location of the Wildcard Stage and Swiss Stage. There is also the possibility, although very unlikely if we look at the M5 World Championship, that the stages will be closed to the public and run without an audience.
