m0NESY perfect in Falcons debut with IEM Melbourne win over SAW

Early debut jitters clear, m0NESY and Falcons set sights on the top step in Melbourne.

In their initial 2-0 victory (scores: 13-8, 13-9) against SAW during IEM Melbourne, the newly signed Falcons player, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, immediately immersed himself in his favorite activity, leading the kill count for his team.

In an almost inseparable manner, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and his accomplice seemed to be united as the trio – including captain Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski – issued a stern warning to Melbourne teams: The Falcons are determined to reaffirm their victory from Romania last week.

m0NESY top frags in Falcons win; will meet MIBR or NaVi in upper bracket

In his initial match for the Falcons at IEM Melbourne, the 19-year-old superstar made a significant impact by securing crucial takedowns on both Nuke and Dust 2. This impressive performance was a collective effort among all team members, with each Falcon notching up more than ten kills in the opening game.

In a stunning turn of events, Team A convincingly won on Map 1 (Nuke) with a score of 13-8, while Team B started their offensive on Map 2 (Dust 2). Player Kyxsan maintained his exceptional individual performance from Nuke, but it was m0NESY who truly shone in the series. He racked up an impressive 20 kills and a remarkable HLTV rating of 1.38, securing the map win on Dust 2 and ultimately the series with a score of 13-9.

Niko remarked after their win, “It may not have been attractive, but every victory counts!” He added that, apart from a brief meeting, there wasn’t much opportunity for m0NESY to mesh well with the Falcons’ playstyle.

According to NiKo, this event serves as an opportunity for us to gain more practice, having only had one day of practice with m0NESY prior. We acquired him before the major to ensure we were as well-prepared as possible. I’m not entirely certain if this brief preparation will be sufficient for us, but we’ll certainly do our utmost.

At the start of the year, I was completely committed to playing without NiKo and performing well with G2, especially when we acquired HeavyGod, according to m0NESY’s statement. When questioned about recent rumors involving G2 and the drama within the team, m0NESY chose not to address the issue directly.

“I don’t care. Let me play CS, man.”
