M. Night Shyamalan‘s new movie finally has its title revealed, as well as the first plot details.

In “Remain,” a young couple, Lyla and Johnathan, are torn apart when a tragic accident takes the life of their unborn child. As they struggle to cope with their grief and rebuild their relationship, they find solace in a remote island cabin that belonged to Johnathan’s late mother. However, as they begin to heal and move forward, they start experiencing a series of inexplicable events, making them question the nature of fate and destiny. The novel explores themes of love, loss, and the power of second chances.

In “Remain,” a collaboration between Shyamalan and Sparks, the protagonist, New York architect Tate Donovan, seeks a fresh start in Cape Cod after being discharged from a psychiatric facility following treatment for acute depression. Haunted by the loss of his sister, Donovan encounters Wren, a young woman who compels him to question his logical and controlled existence.
