Lynne McGranger’s baby joy! Home and Away star reveals major family news

Actress Lynne McGrander from Home and Away recently shared some thrilling personal updates, not long after she was honored with the prestigious Gold Logie award.

In simple terms, the seasoned actress who is 72 years old told New Idea magazine that she’s about to become a grandma.

She announced that her 34-year-old daughter, Clancy, is expecting her first baby, having been married to her husband Luke Dickson for two years.

Lynne shared with the press that she and her long-term companion, Paul, were eagerly anticipating the birth of their first grandchild.

In March 2023, Lynne joyously took on the role of great-aunt for the first time when her nephew, James, had a baby girl named Paris – marking the beginning of a new generation in their family.

After winning the Gold Logie on the weekend, Lynne stunned everyone with an unexpected career move that she announced recently, generating much excitement.

All signs pointed to Lynne retiring from acting for good when she won on Sunday night.

After leaving Home and Away earlier this year, the former performer seemed quite satisfied enjoying the fruits of her long career.

But she revealed on Monday that she is far from finished when it comes to her acting aspirations.

‘I’m not retiring, absolutely not,’ she told The Daily Telegraph following her Gold Logie win.

If given a chance, I might revisit television in the future, provided the part and series are appealing. However, I wouldn’t wait another 33 years as it would make me quite elderly by then.

The star has already arranged her upcoming performance – she will be touring for the stage production called “The Grandparents Club.

Lynne stars as the main character in a traveling musical comedy across Australia that runs through October.

The artist mentions that everything seems perfectly timed for her, and she feels completely at ease with her decision to leave the soap opera behind and focus on a stage acting career instead.

On Sunday evening, McGranger triumphantly claimed the top prize, the Gold Logie, during the awards ceremony held at The Star in Sydney.

On the stage of the 2025 Logies, she gleamed in a golden dress while accepting the award from Rebecca Gibney, the victor of 2009.

I, a fervent admirer, can’t help but exclaim my excitement as I share the news: None other than Lynne has outshone TV heavyweights Ally Langdon, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Poh Ling Yeow, and Sonia Kruger to claim the title of Most Popular Personality on Australian Television! What a triumph!

They suggested you wear an attractive dress, implying everything would turn out well,” joked Lynne, who recently declared her departure from the soap opera following a 33-year run.

She expressed great excitement and gratitude, adding that she wasn’t sure if anyone had noticed her recent media appearances. She mentioned that there hadn’t been a lot of them lately.

She said, “If I were to win the Gold Logie, I pledged to keep it with me in my handbag for an entire year, which seems more appropriate than exposing my bare bottom on television, as Larry mentioned.

The humor centered around Larry Emdur, a host from The Morning Show, getting a live tattoo of his backside last year, following his victory at the Gold Logie awards.

Later on, Lynne playfully mentioned that her remains should be placed within a vase named the Logie upon her passing, followed by expressing gratitude towards her Home and Away co-actors and team.

In March, she recorded her last scenes on Home and Away, bidding farewell to her character Irene, following more than three decades of acting in the series.
