51-year-old celebrity from reality TV revealed on Monday that she had an emergency brain operation following a skiing accident on Christmas Eve. Ban explained the incident and the sequence of events on Instagram, posting images of her bald head and postoperative scar, along with pictures from their family trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Ban mentioned that she fell flat on her face when she reached the summit of a mountain. She was wearing a helmet during the incident and managed to ski down the slope afterwards. After the tumble, Ban stated that ski patrol assessed her for a concussion but eventually gave her the all-clear. However, she developed a headache which made her concerned. Later on, Ban said she consulted a paramedic who advised her to go to the hospital for a CT scan.
“This saved my life,” she wrote.

Medical personnel and hospital staff are reporting an increase in both frequency and seriousness of skiing accidents. Some factors contributing to this trend include the surge of selfie culture and a careless behavior that appears to have emerged after the pandemic.
According to the report, Ban discovered she suffered a brain hemorrhage and urgently required transportation via helicopter to a trauma center for treatment of her head injury. “The last thing I recall is being intubated and awakening after an emergency surgery on my skull,” she said, with partner Jett Kain by her side.
In January 2023, Ban appeared on the premiere of “Bling Empire: New York,” which was the spinoff series of Bling Empire, aired by Netflix. However, both shows were unfortunately canceled by Netflix last year. Apart from television, Ban is well-known for her jewelry line and collaborations with artists such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone, as stated on her website.
