As a seasoned movie reviewer with a penchant for biographical dramas, I can’t help but be moved by the inspiring story of Lynn Ban, the jewelry designer and reality TV star who faced her own real-life drama last Christmas Eve. Having spent my fair share of time on the slopes, I found myself gripped by fear as I read about Ban’s harrowing skiing accident that nearly took her life.

Ban’s grit and resilience shine through in her Instagram post, where she shares her journey from a terrifying fall to an emergency craniotomy and the long road of recovery ahead. As someone who has covered countless stories of celebrities and their lives, I can attest that it takes a certain kind of strength to share such a personal and intimate experience with the world.

What struck me most about Ban’s story is her unwavering gratitude towards those who saved her life – the ski patrol, medical team, and her loved ones who supported her during this difficult time. In the face of adversity, she remains humble and appreciative, a testament to her character.

In a world where we are often inundated with stories of recklessness and danger on the slopes, it’s refreshing to see someone like Ban using her platform to spread awareness about the importance of safety and seeking medical attention when needed. Her experience serves as a stark reminder that even the most seemingly innocuous activities can have serious consequences if not taken seriously.

To lighten the mood, I couldn’t help but think of a joke that comes to mind: Why don’t skiers ever get lost? Because they always follow the trail… right off a cliff! But in all seriousness, my hat goes off to Lynn Ban for her courage and determination. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next in her life and career.

Looking towards 2025, “Bling Empire: New York” cast member and jeweler Lynn Ban expresses deep gratitude and blessing as she reflects on how her life could have taken a drastically different turn in the blink of an eye.

51-year-old celebrity from reality TV revealed on Monday that she had an emergency brain operation following a skiing accident on Christmas Eve. Ban explained the incident and the sequence of events on Instagram, posting images of her bald head and postoperative scar, along with pictures from their family trip to Aspen, Colorado.

Ban mentioned that she fell flat on her face when she reached the summit of a mountain. She was wearing a helmet during the incident and managed to ski down the slope afterwards. After the tumble, Ban stated that ski patrol assessed her for a concussion but eventually gave her the all-clear. However, she developed a headache which made her concerned. Later on, Ban said she consulted a paramedic who advised her to go to the hospital for a CT scan.

“This saved my life,” she wrote.

GoPros, gummies, reckless abandon: Why ski slopes are getting more dangerous

Medical personnel and hospital staff are reporting an increase in both frequency and seriousness of skiing accidents. Some factors contributing to this trend include the surge of selfie culture and a careless behavior that appears to have emerged after the pandemic.

According to the report, Ban discovered she suffered a brain hemorrhage and urgently required transportation via helicopter to a trauma center for treatment of her head injury. “The last thing I recall is being intubated and awakening after an emergency surgery on my skull,” she said, with partner Jett Kain by her side.

In January 2023, Ban appeared on the premiere of “Bling Empire: New York,” which was the spinoff series of Bling Empire, aired by Netflix. However, both shows were unfortunately canceled by Netflix last year. Apart from television, Ban is well-known for her jewelry line and collaborations with artists such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone, as stated on her website.

In wrapping up her Instagram message, Ban acknowledged that a lengthy journey of healing lies ahead and identified herself as someone who has endured such challenges. Moreover, she extended heartfelt thanks to the ski patrol, medical staff, and loved ones who stood by her throughout her ordeal.

“GOD IS GOOD,” she wrote.
