Luke Bryan issues stark warning to Carrie Underwood as she prepares to join him as a judge on American Idol
As a seasoned fan of American Idol since its inception, I must say that Carrie Underwood‘s return to the show where her illustrious career began is nothing short of exhilarating! Her journey from a small-town girl with big dreams to an accomplished country music powerhouse is truly inspiring.
Carrie Underwood is returning to the American Idol stage where her journey started, now taking on the role of a judge. Meanwhile, her colleague Luke Bryan offers some words of guidance for the fresh addition.
41-year-old singer, who became popular following her victory in the fourth season of a singing contest in 2005, is the artist behind Jesus Take The Wheel.
Currently, the stunning woman is making her way back to where “American Idol” began for her, to assist Luke and Lionel Richie in discovering the next massive talent from Hollywood.
And while Carrie is no stranger to the limelight, Luke has still offered up a warning for the new judge ahead of season 23.
The singer behind “The Country Girl” shared a message on social media, cautioning Carrie about the impending stress and suggesting she should consider intensifying her therapy sessions.
While speaking to Audacy’s 100.7 The Wolf, Luke told the singer to brace herself.
He mentioned that if she is seeing a therapist, it might mean she will need to handle both him and Lionel simultaneously.
The current judge – who is prepping for his seventh season with American Idol – even offered to help Carrie.
He joked: ‘Do therapists do gift cards? I can call her therapist and gift her a voucher.’
Luke joined American Idol as a judge in season 16 alongside Lionel and Katy Perry.
Following Katy’s exit, it was announced that Carrie would be taking over.
20 years after her victory in the season, Carrie is scheduled to make a comeback on stage in the spring of 2025.
The blonde beauty is the first American Idol alum to return as a judge.
Speaking with heartfelt emotion in a recent video, she expressed pride for what she achieved during her time on the show and continued to be proud of all she has accomplished since then.
The most honored country music artist on CMT Music Awards, known for her 25 award-winning performances, created history by singing Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” during her audition, causing a significant stir.
Over the course of her music career, she’s garnered eight Grammy Awards and frequently holds the top positions on album and single charts.
As a longtime fan of American Idol, I can still remember the moment when Carrie Underwood won the competition 20 years ago, and it feels like yesterday. Her triumphant victory marked not only a turning point for the show but also the beginning of an incredible career that has since seen her earn multiple Grammy Awards. Watching her rise to fame has been truly inspiring, and I’ve followed her journey closely ever since. It’s amazing to see how far she’s come, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this talented artist.
As a past singing sensation and vibrant musical influencer, she offers a strikingly distinct viewpoint for one of television’s most-watched programs.
In a statement from ABC, Craig Erwich, head of Disney Television Group, warmly welcomed back Carrie by saying, “We’ve come full circle – a moment significant for the show and its fans who have been with us for more than two decades. It feels like home again.”
Longtime host Ryan Seacrest, who has been with the show since it premiered, will also return.
Ryan is also taking over Pat Sajak’s role as the host of Wheel of Fortune this fall.
The nationwide talent hunt for the new season starts on August 12th, known as “Idol Across America,” and runs until September’s close, with auditions taking place all over the country.
The season is set to premiere in the spring and will be available to watch on ABC and Hulu.
American Idol premiered in 2002 on Fox and was a hit for the network, but it was canceled in 2016.
After two years off the air, the show was revived by ABC and has aired there for seven seasons.
