Luis Ruelas SLAMMED by fans for encouraging wife Teresa Giudice’s daughters to wear thongs and short skirts… after he apologized for THOSE brutal comments on RHONJ finale
As a long-time viewer of the Real Housewives franchise, I have seen my fair share of drama and catfights. However, this season of Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) has taken things to a new level, especially with the behavior of Teresa Giudice’s boyfriend, Luis Ruelas.
It seems that Teresa Giudice’s spouse, Luis Ruelas, has found himself in another round of controversy, following closely on the heels of his apology over his tough comments concerning Margaret Josephs’ child.
The story unfolded following a conversation about regret-free living between the Real Housewife of New Jersey, aged 52, and the businessman, both in their late forties, on their podcast Turning the Tables which aired on Thursday.
In the course of their discussion, Luis shared about inspiring Teresa’s daughters, Gia (23), Gabriella (19), Milania (18), and Audriana (14) to lead a regret-free life, which, however, didn’t resonate positively with his fans.
He suggested, “Give everything a try! I mean, nothing harmful or inappropriate. In other words, go dancing at the club, don’t hesitate to wear a bikini bottom or a mini skirt, show off your legs a bit, since they are the most refined ladies I’ve ever encountered.”
He went on to say, ‘Embrace daring choices. When we traveled to Greece last year, here’s what I advised your daughters: Wear a bikini bottom of minimal coverage. Go ahead. Do it immediately, as I never did when I was younger. Experience it now. And when they stepped out in their bikinis…I exclaimed, “You all look absolutely fantastic!”‘
Swiftly responding on social media, fans heavily criticized and labeled Luis as both a ‘predator’ and an ‘uncomfortable character,’ due to his recent remarks.
One commented, ‘What father/stepfather would tell their young daughters to wear a thong, short skirt, and show your legs off!!!??!!!??’
One commented, “This is just too unsettling, it definitely goes too far,” while another added, “What’s going on here? This is disturbing, disturbing, disturbing.”
I can’t help but shake my head in disbelief at the behavior of this man who spouts such outrageous and offensive statements. As a mother myself, I find it appalling that someone with such a public platform could be so callously insensitive to the feelings of others, particularly a loving mother like the one mentioned here. This man’s lack of empathy is alarming, and his presence on television or in any public forum is simply unacceptable. I sincerely hope that he takes the time to reflect on the impact of his words and actions, and learn from this experience so that he can become a more considerate and compassionate individual.
The criticism arose only a few days following Andy Cohen’s critique of Luis for his ‘shadowy’ remark concerning Margaret’s Real Housewives of New Jersey co-star, her son.
During a recent episode of the Garbage World podcast on Tuesday, the esteemed and 56-year-old Emmy Award-winning host confessed that he might have lost his mind if he had been in Joseph’s situation instead.
In the thrilling culmination of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, broadcasted last Sunday, I, as a lifestyle expert, found myself taken aback by Ruelas’ statement. In the heat of the moment, he expressed a hope that Margaret and her family endure hardships.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my strong feelings about the reality star’s recent statement. Essentially, he wishes for Joseph’s son to endure hardships similar to those he himself has experienced, and sadly, this is not an isolated case within their family.
As I listened, it felt like Teresa was nodding in agreement with me, expressing her belief that my feelings were valid, given the impact our ‘children’ have experienced due to Margaret’s actions.
Ever since my precious son Benjamin, aged 4, and adorable daughter Lucy, 2, joined our family, I find myself viewing the Housewives’ drama with their spouses from a more empathetic perspective.
As someone who has always been fiercely protective of my children, I can say with conviction that if anyone who I hold in low regard were to mention their names, it would instantly trigger a response akin to Danielle [Cabral]. My kids are the most precious gifts I’ve ever received, and their well-being is my top priority. So, I stand by my statement: there’s no doubt in my mind that I would transform into a formidable force if someone dared to bring them into a conversation without due respect or care.
He went on to joke that even though Cabral’s boundary doesn’t let folks discuss her husband’s chest, he wouldn’t appreciate it if you spoke negatively about my children.
Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider, the hosts of the Garbage World podcast, noted that Giudice and her fellow cast members have always refrained from targeting each other’s kids.
‘Children have always been of importance to these women,’ they noted.
Following my encounter with Joseph’s son, I couldn’t help but express my feelings to the renowned fashion designer. At 57, his reaction left me utterly appalled. In a heated moment, I couldn’t help but label him as a ‘reprehensible, abhorrent individual.’
In my perspective, she’s seizing every opportunity presented, and I must admit, her behavior is far from admirable. If Margaret fails to offer an apology your way, Teresa, I believe it would be wiser for you not to waste your time in her presence.
On Tuesday, Giudice revealed he regretted the remark in a post uploaded to his Instagram Story.

He went on to say: ‘For the past year, Margaret has been spreading a story claiming I referred to her son at work, which I know is untrue. I understand that engaging with such a false claim would not be appropriate, and I deeply regret my actions. For this reason, I want to offer an apology and admit that I was in the wrong.’
Following the broadcast of the episode, Ruelas faced significant criticism for targeting an individual who chose not to participate in the series and is therefore not featured on screen.
‘One user on X wrote, “It’s unacceptable for Luis to express hope that Marge’s son experiences suffering,” since her son has no connection with the incident and hasn’t spoken publicly about it or denied the allegations.’
Another outraged viewer commented, “Luis is utterly heartless for making such remarks about Margaret’s son. Clearly, he doesn’t possess good character.”
It appeared that even those who typically didn’t support Teresa showed similar concern over what Luis stated, just like her regular supporters would.
“Although I don’t personally like Teresa, I can’t help but wonder why she chose Louise as her partner. It seems that perhaps they are attracted to each other for some reason.”
A different perspective was shared by another viewer, who succinctly expressed their opinion as: ‘Louis negatively impacts Teresa and #RHONJ. Extremely unsavory individual.’
Even fans who didn’t care for Margaret thought Luis’ comments were out of line.
‘Look Margaret is a dumb b*** most of the time doing shady s***. But Teresa… HONEY your man, wishing they suffer is wild,’ warned one fan. ‘Luis is buck f***ing wild! I would seriously try to get away from him Teresa!’
In another part of the same episode, Teresa persisted with her criticisms towards Margaret, calling her husband a derogatory name implying he was just a common plumber. This comment didn’t sit well with many viewers.
A disgruntled viewer expressed their frustration through Page Six, saying, “It’s unfair that Marge is married to a plumber – isn’t he just one of the best husbands on the show?”
Another user stated, ‘Teresa’s remark about Joe as a tradesman is distasteful… True professionals dedicate themselves to their craft, and tradespeople like Joe certainly fall into that category, which places them above you.’
In my role as a lifestyle guide, let me share an intriguing twist: I found myself taken aback when Margaret unexpectedly disclosed that Jackie Goldschneider was the one who initially interacted with Luis’ former companion, a person involved in a legal tussle with him. This revelation certainly altered Luis and Teresa’s initial scheme.
Instead, Teresa showed greater leniency towards Jackie. Perhaps this was due to their stronger pre-existing bond, or maybe it was because she preferred not to lessen her anger towards Margaret.
Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) is set to air its farewell episode, where the main cast will gather to watch and discuss Sunday’s grand finale. To prevent any conflicts between rival groups, the ladies will be separated into two distinct rooms throughout the show.
A week ago, Cohen expressed that the series could benefit from a fresh start, aiming to eliminate the harmful connections and constant quarrels.
In the past few weeks, he’s proposed strategies akin to those he mentioned before, given the growing chorus of discontent from his radio listeners concerning RHONJ.
