Lucy Liu’s ‘secret career’ stuns fans as they discover her amazing hidden talent away from big screen
As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for multifaceted talent, I must say Lucy Liu’s ‘secret career‘ as a visual artist has left me absolutely spellbound! It’s truly inspiring to see an individual who has mastered one field, such as acting, and then delves into another, like painting, with equal finesse.
Lucy Liu’s ‘secret career’ has been revealed and it has stunned fans.
55-year-old actress, who left everyone in awe at the Red Carpet event earlier this week, has been surprising people on social media by revealing her lesser-known skill: painting, which she showcases outside of the movie industry.
The versatile actress explores various forms of visual art, such as ink sketches, paintings, silkscreen prints, and collages, yet she’s particularly recognized for her sensual lesbian-themed artwork.
On the platform known as X, formerly Twitter, a user highlighted their work outside of films and TV by sharing a picture of Lucy standing before one of her most recognized pieces.
It turns out that Lucy Liu isn’t just a talented actress; she’s also recognized as an artist, particularly for her lesbian-themed artwork under the alias Yu Ling (which is actually her real name).

Her art style ranges from figurative to abstract.
A user shared four pictures of Lucy Liu, painting, accompanied by the caption: ‘I didn’t know Lucy Liu was an artist [smiling heart eyes emoji]’
This gifted actress started painting as a teenager, and then continued her artistic education by attending the New York Studio School.
When she began her career she began signing her work under her Chinese name Yu Ling.
In early February 2019, she clarified to The Hollywood Reporter that her decision was both a protective measure and to ensure viewers approached her work with an uncluttered mind.
Lucy has had a successful art career which has spanned more than three decades.
1993 marked the occasion when she held her inaugural solo show, dubbed “Unraveling,” at the Cast Iron Gallery located in New York City.
Since then her art has been exhibited and collected around the world.
In the month of March and continuing through April 2023, she showcased her artwork at the New York Studio School, where she studied, in a recent exhibition.
As per the statement by Lucy’s art dealer, Daniel Chen, her artwork typically goes for a price ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.
Lucy’s acting and painting careers have both been active for the same length of time, with her debut acting role being Donna in the 1992 Hong Kong drama film “Rhythm Of Destiny.
Her career has been extremely prosperous, featuring roles in two Charlie’s Angels movies (from 2000 and 2003), Kill Bill: Volume 1, and acting in the television series Why Women Kill from 2019 until 2021.
In the upcoming holiday action comedy movie titled “Red One,” Lucy will be joining forces with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Chris Evans, Kiernan Shipka, and J.K. Simmons on screen. The film is scheduled for release next week on Friday, November 15.
