Luck be a Landlord is a Deckbuilder Roguelite in Which You Have to Make Rent With Slot Machine Winnings

Independent game developer TrampolineTales has declared that the roguelike deck-building game “Luck be a Landlord,” initially launched on PC and mobile platforms back in 2020, is set to transition to console systems within the upcoming month.

The core concept of “Luck be a Landlord” revolves around employing a slot machine for “covering rent and resisting capitalism”, initially portraying a hopeful tenant with affordable dues, but later witnessing a distressing escalation as the rent increases steadily.

After every spin on the slot machine, symbols may appear to help gather coins and eventually reach a sufficient amount for timely payments. However, if rent isn’t paid promptly, there’s a risk of eviction.

In this game, you can combine regular symbols and unique items to trigger profitable chain reactions, while potent items such as the Swear Jar, Grave Robber, and X-Ray Machine can lead to massive profits, according to the recent press announcement. Here’s a brief summary of the game:

Pay off your mortgage in twelve installments to conquer the capitalist property ownership model and outsmart the landlord. Yet, the need for rental payments persists, doesn’t it? Climb higher, with each level becoming progressively challenging once you defeat the landlord. Overcome escalating rent costs, diminishing grace periods, and the relentless pressures of capitalism to reach the highest floor and confront a hidden adversary.

The game “Luck be a Landlord” is set to release on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on the 6th of February.
