Love Island contestant Yasmin Pettet disclosed the personal motivation behind her decision to abstain from intimacy with partner Jamie Rhodes so far.
After exiting the villa on Saturday, the third-place couple from the ITV dating show offered a peek into their relationship by sharing insights about it.
In her latest interview, Yas shared that she has developed a strong connection with Jamie, and there is no need for immediate action or decisions.
As a devoted pet owner, I’ve had to face the heartbreaking loss of my cherished feline companion, Miaow Miaow. My partner has stood by me during this challenging time, offering unwavering support as I navigate through the waves of grief that have come with her passing.
Yas told The Sun: ‘I’ve been going through grief and Jamie will just sit there when I cry on him.
‘I’ve taken a lot of time to process my emotions, so Jamie and I haven’t been intimate yet.’

She mentioned: ‘He’s incredibly patient. He doesn’t hurry things along, understanding well that everything will unfold when it should.’
During her stay in the villa, the reality TV personality frequently expressed affectionate words for her beloved cat. Sadly, Miaow Miaow, who was 11 years old, lost his life to cancer while Yasmin was still working on the program.
On Instagram, Yasmin shared some news: “For many of you who’ve watched me, you might already know about Miaow Miaow, my beloved feline companion who has been with me for the past 11 years.
During my time filming Love Island, I developed an uneasy sensation that things weren’t quite right. Upon my family’s visit to the villa, I confided in them, but my intuition persisted-I continued to sense a discrepancy.
It wasn’t shared with me while I was still in the villa, but once the season ended, I phoned my sister who informed me that Miaow Miaow had been diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away during my time on Love Island.
Although I’m making an effort to stay active on social media, I’m also giving myself space and time to deal with my recent heartache personally.
She ended her touching tribute with: ‘Rest in Peace, my beloved daughter. You were deeply cherished and will forever reside within me.’
Recently, Yasmin made a comeback on social platforms to express gratitude towards her fans for their unwavering support during her journey.

She expressed that her experience on Love Island was certainly wild, and she couldn’t have made it through without the support of Jamie, Toni, and Shakira.
‘I feel so grateful and blessed and can’t wait to see what the future holds.’
Last month, ITV disclosed the detailed voting results, verifying that the final outcome was the narrowest margin ever seen in the show’s history.
Altogether, Toni and Cach collected approximately one-third of the votes, while Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley gathered around 26%, suggesting that the outcome was quite narrow.
Yasmin and Jamie came third with 22% and Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood placed fourth with 18.3%.
