Shakira Khan from Love Island disclosed the reason behind her and Harry Cooksley not yet formalizing their relationship.
Although they exited the villa hand-in-hand last August, it seems unlikely that the duo are planning a romantic relationship anytime soon.
22-year-old Shakira shared during Capital XTRA Breakfast that she usually takes about three months to formalize relationships, reflecting on her past love experiences.
Radio host Shayna Marie asked: ‘Are you boyfriend and girlfriend?’
Shakira clarified, “Absolutely not! I don’t find that odd at all. Typically, in my previous relationships, I would date someone for approximately three months.
We’re still in the process of understanding and adapting to our new lifestyle, sharing moments together along the way.
It seems as though there’s no undue stress about it. People often wonder, especially when a relationship is under scrutiny, why we haven’t taken the step to get married.
Harry, 30, recently opened up about their relationship in an interview on ITV’s Lorraine.
In conversation with Christine Lampard, Harry expressed that speaking privately with Shakira felt effortless. He had held back many feelings for her, and during their conversation, they finally poured out. He is grateful for having shared his thoughts openly.
He also clarified his relationship status before heading in the villa.
He wasn’t involved in any relationships before entering the villa, yet he was seeing others casually. He confided in just four individuals about his participation.
In response to Christine’s question about if they had formalized their relationship, Harry responded with a hint of caution, saying, “I’m not sure being exclusive is as significant in the broader world.
‘When we rekindled I only had eyes for Shakira and that hasn’t changed.’
In an honest admission, Shakira said: ‘Having to watch him with Helena every day was so tough.
In the broader world, there’s a sense of space between us, yet here at home, they’re right beside me. I was eagerly anticipating Casa Amor when this incident transpired.
At that point, Harry admitted that he hadn’t truly had a proper encounter with his mother, apart from their awkward confrontation during the program, where she notably declined to embrace him.
According to Shakira, the meeting with her mom turned out to be more successful than expected. Right now, her mom is enjoying a vacation on a cruise ship.
‘She’s warming to him, she wants to meet him, sooner rather than later.’
