Love Island’s Sam Gowland Claims England Ban Over ‘Nasty Posts’ Leaves Him Exiled in Dubai!

Previously popular TV personality has faced laughter from followers following a series of posts stating they’ve been barred from returning to England due to consistent criticism towards the nation on social media.

In the year 2017, Sam Gowland made a brief appearance on Love Island. Later, he spent time on MTV’s Geordie Shore between 2018 and 2019. However, he decided to leave reality TV behind and moved to Dubai instead.

In contrast, the 29-year-old continues to be actively engaged on social media platforms. Lately, he’s been creating videos that criticize the UK as part of an effort to encourage people to enroll in his ECOM course.

However, his latest social media updates puzzled his followers, as he announced that he was returning to England despite earlier statements, citing a longing for his family and desire for familiar surroundings and employment prospects.

Following a TikTok post that appeared to show him traveling on a flight to the UK last month, Sam subsequently uploaded another video a week later, stating he was in a holding room undergoing inspection by UK customs officials due to his videos criticizing England.

Speaking from what appears to be a waiting area, he stated: “I find it hard to believe, but I was held up at the English border control due to remarks I made criticizing them on social media.

Currently, I’m sitting in the waiting area, patiently anticipating if I’ll be granted entry into England. I’ll make sure to keep you informed, just a friendly heads-up in case you’re considering criticizing England online. Remember, this new administration is taking things very seriously.

Two weeks past, Sam resumed posting on TikTok again on a Sunday, strangely asserting that he was permanently barred from entering England again. This declaration came about following the confiscation of his passport by border control due to his allegedly offensive remarks.

He informed his followers, “I’ve been permanently barred from entering England now. This is due to the ‘critical remarks’ I made about it on the internet.

It’s clear that you were aware of the incident last time when I was held at the border checkpoint for three days, and during this time, they took possession of my passport as they put it.

It has been taken away from me, and I am no longer permitted to go back to England. Therefore, that’s the end of it, it was a pleasure, so I have returned to my residence in Dubai.

It seems like a strange turn of events, but it appears that expressing unfavorable opinions online can lead to restrictions for an English citizen. Frankly, I hadn’t imagined such a scenario. With all the talk about freedom of speech, I wonder if it still holds true today?

Among the spectators, some expressed bewilderment, while others clarified that Sam’s tale seemed unlikely. They highlighted that such a situation would be legally impossible and posed questions about how Sam managed to travel back to Dubai without a valid passport.

‘In this case, they can’t stop a British citizen from coming into the country unless there is evidence of wrongdoing, which would lead to arrest.’

‘I have returned to Dubai without my passport.’

I find that notion hard to believe; they wouldn’t revoke my British citizenship solely based on me holding a British passport.

Or, in a more conversational tone:

I can’t imagine that’s true; they won’t be taking away my British citizenship just because I possess a British passport.

As a diligent traveler hailing from the United Kingdom, I should clarify that my British passport is an inseparable part of me, given the regulations under international traveling law. A quick internet search or delving into common law will confirm this fact. Additionally, if someone has my passport, it leaves me puzzled as to how I managed to return to Dubai.

Instead of openly doubting Sam’s tale, some individuals chose to ridicule him in the comment section, drawing parallels with Jay Cartwright, a character known for his compulsive lying, from The Inbetweeners. They presumed that Sam might be trying to generate views or financial gains from his videos.

I find this quite disheartening, don’t you think? I seem to be making no progress here; let’s add this to the imaginary events list. Reminds me a bit of Jay from The Inbetweeners, but unfortunately, as you pointed out, nothing eventful took place.

1. “It seems Jay Cartwright, you’re not convincing at all as a liar.”

2. “This appears to be a jest.”

3. “Today, we have an instance of an event that didn’t occur.”

4. “This situation is quite awkward.”

1. It’s hard to imagine that bills could be this steep.

2. I can hardly accept that everyone at the table is crying, it’s unbelievable.

3. His attempts to sell these courses are nothing but a lot of empty talk.

1. In the realm of clowns, Sam Gowland stands out as exceptional;

2. Such an occurrence falls under the category of pure fiction…;

3. The human mind can be astonishingly gullible, swallowing anything; that’s just nonsense;

4. Achieving views (not through genuine merit).
