Love Island contestant Mitch Taylor, known for causing drama, admitted that the fame from reality TV has waned, leading him to resume his regular occupation. He confessed that he finds himself in a financially challenging position and labels himself as ‘strapped for cash.’
After spending the last two years leveraging his popularity from Love Island, the 27-year-old has returned to his familiar territory, now working as a gas engineer once again.
He first rose to fame on the 2023 series, and later returned for the All-Stars spin-off.
On Friday, Mitch shared candidly with his followers, disclosing a significant event that’s kept him away from the limelight lately.
He shared with his Snapchat audience: “I wanted to let you know that I haven’t posted anything new here for a while because I’ve been working really hard.
‘Guys, I didn’t have a nine to five for two years because old rock star famous cool guy.

Currently, my financial situation requires me to work hard. Unfortunately, this leaves no time for participating in dating shows as I’m already in a relationship with a girl. To clarify, my busy schedule is not due to any other relationships, but rather the demands of my job.
Mitch struck up a reputation on Love Island of jumping between girls in the villa.
At first, he teamed up with Molly Marsh, but later on, he started chasing after Leah Taylor, Jess Harding, Ella Barnes, and Abi Moores.

He initially formed a partnership with Molly Marsh; however, he subsequently developed feelings for Leah Taylor, Jess Harding, Ella Barnes, and Abi Moores.

Initially, he was connected with Molly Marsh, but later on, he became smitten with Leah Taylor, Jess Harding, Ella Barnes, and Abi Moores.
Each paraphrase presents the information in a slightly different way to add variety and interest to the text without changing its core meaning.
Last year, he decided to give the show another go, but his time on there was short-lived.
Mitch clashed with Liberty Poole and was kicked off the show.
However, he discovered affection beyond the villa, having been in a relationship with the well-known South African TikTok creator, Hayley Griffin, since more than a year ago. They made their relationship official in July 2024.
Previously, Hayley playfully suggested that by dating Mitch, she would prevent him from appearing on Love Island anymore, stating: “By making Mitch my partner, I can ensure viewers won’t have to see him on Love Island again.
For fans, though, ‘Messy Mitch’ will remain one of the most memorable Islanders in recent years.

Previously, he described his character as follows: “In all honesty, when I claim we won’t see ‘Messy Mitch’, it feels like a character I’m yet to meet.” (or “when I say ‘Messy Mitch’ isn’t in the picture, it seems like an unknown character to me.”)
The course of action taken will vary based on the day of the week. If I awaken feeling low-spirited, my options are generally limited.
Messy Mitchel seems to exist independently, not as a result of something I’ve intentionally created. It’s not like a second self or a superhero persona I assume.
‘I can’t say yes or no if Messy Mitchel will come or not? I don’t know.’
