Love Island’s Matilda Draper and her TOWIE boyfriend Roman Hackett get baptised together as they turn to God after suffering ‘social anxiety’

Celebrity figures Matilda Draper and Roman Hackett have publicly announced their newfound faith, posting a video of their shared baptism ceremony online.

The 25-year-old Love Island participant and the 23-year-old TOWIE celebrity, who have been together since last December, posted a video showcasing their spiritual event, which was attended by their dearest companions and relatives.

On the stage, dressed identically in T-shirts that read “Born for More,” Matilda disclosed her struggles with social anxiety, an issue that significantly impacted her life until she found solace and courage in her faith, trusting in Jesus.

She mentioned that a few years back, she was grappling with social anxiety, an issue that strained her connections with friends, family, and even affected her professional life, influencing her overall lifestyle. However, she noted that during those challenging times, God appeared to provide comfort when everything seemed stagnant or bleak.

Instead of depending solely on myself, I chose to place my faith in Jesus, which marked a significant shift in my life. Ever since then, I’ve woken up feeling increasingly optimistic, self-assured, complete, thankful, and full of hope each morning, all thanks to him.

As I journey through each obstacle that comes my way, I’m convinced more than ever that He stands by my side. Today, I affirm my unwavering commitment to walk alongside Him, heart and soul united.

After delivering her speech, Matilda affectionately planted a kiss on Roman’s cheek. Subsequently, another video clip was played displaying them both being baptized separately, immersed in a pool of water.

After the baptism, the duo appeared more joyful than ever, embracing in delight to express their religious devotion.

She wrote: “The most memorable day of my life and an instant we’ll treasure eternally. Being baptized side by side, with our families present, was a deeply touching symbol of God’s unwavering faithfulness.

I am incredibly grateful to be treading the path of faith and love, hand-in-hand with my dearest companion. I eagerly anticipate this voyage as I prepare to advance further on my spiritual journey alongside Christ ✨ Praise be to God forever!

They made their relationship public by posting on Instagram as a couple in December of the previous year.

At Oh Polly’s Christmas gathering, Matilda, accompanied by Roman, captivated everyone in her striking, crimson mini dress.

They looked more than loved-up as they made their first public outing together.

He posted a photo showing him alongside a woman both dressed in the same pants and black leather jackets.

The seemingly revealing snap comes just months after Matilda and her ex Sean Stone separated. 

They shared a statement on their social media platforms, revealing their unexpected separation, mere weeks after exiting the villa with hands joined together.

Instead of spending more time together after an enjoyable outdoor date within the villa, they decided to travel separately instead.

Matilda wrote: ‘I just dropped by to let you know that Sean and I have chosen to go our separate ways.’

As a faithful companion, I’m thrilled to say that our bond remains unbroken. I’m deeply appreciative of the extraordinary journey we’ve traveled together.
