Faye Winter has spoken out about the bullying concerns on Love Island All Stars, following over 200 complaints to Ofcom about the show.
There’s been a lot of drama between the women in the villa, leading host Maya Jama to intervene. Some viewers even said the show became difficult to watch.
In 2021, Faye Winter’s behavior on Love Island led to a record 25,000 complaints to the broadcasting regulator after a heated argument with her then-partner, Teddy Soares, which included strong language.
Okay, so Faye just gets it, you guys! She’s 30 now and honestly, she’s so mature about everything. She said she’s actually proud of how much she’s grown since leaving the villa, which, YES QUEEN! And the best part? She didn’t try to blame the producers or the editing – she totally owned her mistakes, and I just respect that so much. It’s amazing to see her taking responsibility, honestly!
As a bit of a lifestyle guru, I’ve been following all the drama, and I recently shared some thoughts with the Daily Mail about what I’d tell the islanders caught up in all the arguments. I really think they could use a little guidance right now!
After the show, she realized her behavior had been wrong and took responsibility for it, resolving the issue on her own.
I’m proud that I always took responsibility for my mistakes and never blamed anyone else on the show. I always owned up to my actions.
Looking back, it definitely created a challenge for me. People kept saying they hadn’t seen anything quite like it publicly before, and that made things tricky. It felt like I was breaking new ground, which wasn’t always easy to navigate.
Many might dismiss it, but I chose to embrace the challenge because I wanted to learn and develop as a person, and I knew personal growth wouldn’t be easy.
Personal growth is challenging; it’s much simpler to remain comfortable. Regardless of the situation, I hope everyone involved receives the support and assistance they require.
And if they don’t think they need help, I hope they continue living their lives and find success and happiness in whatever they decide to do next.
I don’t think my issues on the show were a gradual thing. It felt like a single, major outburst that had been brewing for a while.
Faye explained she didn’t want to comment on the situation because she hadn’t been following it closely. She also didn’t want to downplay any potential bullying that may have occurred, as that wouldn’t be right.
While on Love Island, Faye became involved in the show’s most controversial moment when she angrily confronted Teddy after watching a video of him telling Clarisse Juliette he was attracted to her.
Nearly 24,800 viewers complained to Ofcom about a contestant’s behavior, with many describing it as awful, harmful, and manipulative. They also asked producers to take her off the show.
Even though Faye apologized to Teddy and they dated for a year and a half, she told Paul C. Brunson that she still receives hateful messages about the situation. She admitted to feeling embarrassed and like she had disappointed people.
Looking back on the difficult time, Faye explained that she sometimes couldn’t bring herself to get out of bed for several days, until her dog Bonnie helped her through it.
Faye currently lives in Devon, where she’s busy renovating her ideal home and managing a farm. She’s also a passionate advocate for animal rights and actively campaigns for their welfare.
She explained that Bonnie saved her life, and she’s proud to admit it. She feels no guilt about accepting Bonnie’s help, and stating that feels good. Before Bonnie came into her life, she wasn’t herself – she was a much weaker version of who she used to be.
I became a complete homebody, afraid to go anywhere alone. I felt lost and disconnected from myself, unsure of my identity, my interests, or what truly mattered to me. It was like I’d lost all sense of who I was as a person.
When I finally got her, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted. I held her and just cried, promising myself I would do everything I could to take care of her.
She inspired me to start walking every day. When I carried her into stores like Tesco, I didn’t feel self-conscious; all eyes were on her and how lovely she was, which made me feel comfortable and unobserved.
I know it sounds strange, but I became really paranoid after being on television. I worried that everyone now disliked me, and it was a very tough time. She helped me through it, giving me the confidence I needed to cope.
She explained that there were times she stayed in bed for days, not caring about anything. This person helped her get back on her feet and rediscover the joy in life, and she’s eternally grateful, feeling that this person truly saved her.
This March, Faye is leading Pet Anxiety Month, working with top pet wellbeing companies Adaptil and Feliway.
Faye, a passionate dog owner whose companion is named Bonnie, is working to educate people about pet anxiety and the importance of recognizing it. She believes anxiety in pets is often misunderstood and deserves more attention.
Faye shared that she dedicates herself completely to animal welfare, having restructured her life to prioritize it.
It’s important to recognize that many pets experience anxiety, and by learning more about it, we can better understand their needs and improve their quality of life.
The cost of caring for people is increasing dramatically, and while we might not anticipate animals facing similar challenges, they are. As a result, we’re seeing a growing number of animals ending up in rescue centers.
My goal is to help people understand that what they see as ‘bad behavior’ in their pets is often hidden anxiety. If I can help just one pet avoid being rehomed or simply live a calmer life at home, I feel like I’ve succeeded.
