Love Island’s Ella Barnes ‘splits from her entrepreneur boyfriend Neil Farrugia after one year of dating’

According to reports, Love Island contestant Ella Barnes appears to have ended her relationship with businessman Neil Farrugia.

Last month, it’s reported that the 25-year-old celebrity called off his relationship with the gym-loving individual due to the challenges posed by their long distance situation. They found it tough to keep up the relationship from afar.

Ella resides in Kent, whereas Neil, aged 30 and formerly linked with Islander Gemma Owen, currently dwells in Malta.

Ella stays put in Kent, while Neil, who has a history with fellow Islander Gemma Owen, calls Malta home.

According to a source, Ella and Neil experienced some wonderful moments together, yet they discovered that maintaining their relationship from afar proved challenging for them in the long run.

Although they harbored no ill feelings, they recognized that the situation was too challenging to sustain over time.” This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.

The source revealed that they have both deleted photos of each other from their Instagram profiles and stopped following each other, officially confirming their separation.

Daily Mail has contacted Ella’s representative for comment.

Last summer, Ella attended the Isle of MTV festival in Malta with Olivia Hawkins, and that’s where she met her boyfriend. (The original sentence was: In May, Ella was asked during an Instagram Q&A how she met her boyfriend, and she replied, ‘Me and Olivia Hawkins went to Malta for the @isleofmtv festival last summer.’)

‘I met Neil the first night I got there and we juts clicked instantly.

‘I was never meant to go on the trip it was super last minute.

‘I am truly a believer of that everything happens for a reason.

‘We met organically in person which is so rare these days and I’m super grateful for that.

‘Even more rare is that we make it work long distance!

‘However by the end of the year we will ne living together.’

As I shared in another post, it’s been challenging for me lately because Neil and I haven’t been able to meet for about a month due to the distance between us.

In the 2023 summer season, Ella gained widespread recognition as a contestant on a well-known ITV dating show. She ended up in fifth place alongside Mitchel Taylor.

However, just a month after leaving the villa, the pair announced their split.

On Instagram, Ella shared an update: “I thought it was important to let everyone know what’s going on, considering your support has played a crucial role in my journey.

I regret to inform you that Mitch and I have chosen to part ways in our relationship. I had hoped for a better outcome, and I’m deeply saddened that our path together has concluded.

Wishing Mitch great success and genuine joy ahead! It seems it’s high time for us both to turn over a new leaf.

‘Thank you so much for all the love and support. It means the world to me.’

Mitch wrote that, unfortunately, his relationship with Ella has concluded, as you might have noticed from her recent post.

In my current circumstances, with a hectic schedule and residing far away, maintaining our connection has proven incredibly challenging, despite my deep desire for it to persist.

‘I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world.’

Four days before their separation, the reality TV star and gas engineer, who came close to winning Love Island, were spotted enjoying themselves at We Are FSTVL in Essex, partying side by side.

Instead, they had made a commitment to bridge the gap between their homes, which were in Sheffield (Mitch’s) and Kent (Ella’s), by frequently traveling.

After Mitch faced criticism for managing his love triangle with Ella and Abi Moores, they experienced quite a wild ride in the villa.

In the last week alone, a dating show garnered 913 complaints from Ofcom, with the TV regulator stating that most of these complaints were about Mitch’s behavior towards Abi, expressing concern for her well-being.
