Alex Bowen, known from Love Island, surprised fans with an incredible physique after placing second in a recent bodybuilding competition.
The 34-year-old former Love Island contestant showed off his impressive physique – a sculpted six-pack and muscular arms – while competing in his first physical culture competition with PCA.
I was completely captivated watching Alex perform! He was wearing these amazing, bright pink shorts and moved through all sorts of poses – it was a really striking visual, and he executed everything beautifully.
He excitedly announced on Instagram on Monday that he’d placed second in a very competitive class, and celebrated by saying he was ready to enjoy some food and beer.
Alex’s wife and co-star, Olivia, was quick to offer her enthusiastic support and congratulations, writing: ‘I’m incredibly proud of you – every moment was worthwhile!’
The couple finished as runners-up on Love Island in 2016. They’ve since gotten married and now have two children: a three-year-old son named Abel and a six-week-old daughter named Siena.
The bodybuilder has talked openly about his issues with how he sees himself, admitting he used to strongly dislike his appearance.
He recently shared with New! magazine that he struggles with self-confidence, even admitting he sometimes wears a vest under his shirt when he feels too thin.
He confessed that he never felt truly satisfied. He explained he went to the gym because he was always self-conscious about his appearance. Ironically, if he hadn’t been going regularly, he’d sometimes wear an extra layer to feel less thin, and he hoped to help other young men who struggled with similar insecurities.
Alex is not the only one who has took to bodybuilding after their time on the ITV show.

Harley, who recently started an online coaching business, has been posting photos of his impressive physique online. He’s shared pictures of his muscular arms while flexing in a tank top, and another showing off his powerful legs at the gym.
Okay, so I saw a post from a former TV personality this weekend, and it really resonated with me. He was talking about how challenging the last few days have been, but that’s just part of the process when you’re really dedicated to getting in top shape. He put it perfectly – achieving that ‘stage lean’ physique isn’t supposed to be easy! It requires pushing your limits every single day, and honestly, that’s the truth about any serious fitness goal. It’s about embracing the challenge and knowing it won’t be a walk in the park.
Harley was on Love Island for a short time during season three, which Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies ultimately won.
Lavena Back, a contestant on Love Island’s Casa Amor in 2019, has since become a bodybuilder.
She recently shared photos on Instagram revealing she participated in a bikini competition and proudly displayed her results from earlier this year.
The mother of two looked amazing in a sparkling turquoise bikini as she prepared for the competition.
I didn’t win, but I gained so much more from the experience.
‘The line-up was insanely strong, and I’m honestly so proud of myself for even getting this far.’

Lavena regularly shares fitness content to her Instagram and offers meal ideas to her followers.
She shared that her future husband proposed in February 2022, and they quickly married just two months afterward.
