Love Island voting percentages REVEALED after Toni Laites and Cach Mercer scoop £50,000 cash prize – and it’s the closest final in show’s  history

On Monday evening, I had the immense pleasure of watching Toni Laites and Cacherel ‘Cach’ Mercer take home the title for the twelfth series of Love Island. Their victory not only brought joy to many hearts but also etched their names into the show’s history books.

ITV recently disclosed the detailed vote count for the last four contestant pairs, revealing this season’s finale had the closest margin of victory since the show started in 2015.

Altogether, Toni and Catch garnered approximately 33.5% of the total votes, while Shakira Khan and Harry Cooksley gathered around 26.2%. This suggests that the outcome was quite tight.

Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes ended up in the third position with a total of 22%, while Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood secured the fourth position with 18.3% of the votes.

With just 15% between fourth and first place, it’s the closest final vote in history. 

After Maya Jama, aged 30, declared as the host, it was revealed that the pair garnered the most public votes. This meant they were entitled to the £50,000 cash award.

Toni became a historical figure by being the initial U.S. participant in the UK’s Love Island villa. She and Cach appear determined to navigate their relationship successfully, even with the ocean separating them.

In the thrilling whirlwind of Casa Amor, our paths crossed, but boy, did things get complicated quickly! It didn’t take long before I was smack-dab in the middle of a dramatic love tangle involving not just one, but two hearts and poor Harrison caught in the crossfire.

Ever since Harrison and Lauren chose to exit the villa together, my heart skipped a beat as Toni zeroed in on Cach. From that moment on, their relationship flourished, growing stronger by the day.

Even though the betting odds suggested Harry and Shakira as the likely winners, Toni and Cach managed to clinch victory during the live final, only a few hours before the event.

Additionally, fans appeared thrilled by the news, expressing their well-wishes for the couple on Twitter.

They penned: ‘Justice served well done Toni & Cach .. what a gentleman man he is’;

People found it amusing that Harrison, who had left Toni earlier for Lauren, was present when she won the 50k race. This was a point of humor for others due to their past relationship.

In the villa, Shakira and Harry have experienced quite the emotional ride, with Harry’s wandering gaze leading to a fair share of disagreements.
