Love Island stars Harry Cooksley and Ben Holbrough look unrecognisable in unveiled hair transplant videos prior to their time in the villa

It isn’t a surprise that Love Island participants sometimes opt for minor cosmetic enhancements before entering the villa, searching for affection.

This year, two male contestants who appeared on the popular ITV dating show had hair transplant procedures before they joined the show.

23-year-old Harry Cooksley, who appears drastically different in old photos, traveled to Turkey in 2018 for a surgical procedure.

At the Estepera Hair Clinic, Harry’s session was recorded in a video uploaded to their YouTube channel. In the video, you can see Harry getting his hairline mapped out for the treatment. Before the transplant, his head was shaved.

In a direct address to the camera, Harry shared his experience, saying: “The procedure was almost entirely painless. The surgeons were truly exceptional, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

After almost seven years, the outcome has proven to be worthwhile as Harry now sports a complete mullet on the ITV program.

Yet he isn’t the only male contestant to have undergone the procedure.

Ben Holbrough also had a hair transplant at 360 Hair Clinic around a year and a half ago.

In a video posted six months post-surgery, Ben showcased progress in his hair growth, admitting that it had grown approximately 80% since the operation.

Apart from undergoing a hair transplant, Ben also relies on the clinic’s Optimum Hair products to preserve his hair’s density, strength, and natural appearance.

Expressing our pride for being a part of his Love Island adventure, we wrote: “We’re thrilled to have been by his side during this journey, eagerly anticipating his bright performance (and fabulous hair!) on the television screen across the nation.

‘Best of luck, Ben! You’ve already got the crown for best hair in the villa’.

Previously, popular Love Island contestant Ronnie Vint sparked discussions about male hairlines when it emerged that he employed Toppik to modify his own hairline.

Home viewers found themselves puzzled by Ronnie’s hairstyle, as they noticed it appeared distinct during daylight compared to how it looks when he’s captured on night vision surveillance cameras in his bed.

In the All Stars competition held in January, viewers were perplexed about a particular aspect of Ronnie Vint, as they wrote: “Even after watching him for 2 seasons on Love Island, I can’t figure out the secret behind his hairline. It remains an enigma #LoveIsland.

It seems like there’s an unusual thing happening with Ronnie’s hair. While the wind is causing his hair at the back to stand up, none of his front hair appears to be moving. Could it be that he used some strong-hold product or perhaps even a temporary adhesive for his front hairline? #LoveIsland

‘So is Ronnie wearing a frontal? because at night we see the missing hairline #LoveIslandAllStars.’

In fact, it was after his initial stay in the villa during summer 2024 that Ronnie decided to address his hairstyle. He even joked about his receding hairline, saying it had gained more fame than him.

He took to TikTok to explain his hair journey and what he uses to make his hairline appear fuller.

In a video uploaded in November, Ronnie, addressing the camera, displayed a bottle containing his own hair and exclaimed to his fans: ‘Isn’t that incredible?’

Since leaving the villa, everyone has been curious about the product I use for my hair, and it’s Toppik – the superior hair fiber option out there.

‘I will demonstrate my methods, what I use, and help restore a natural hairline. These products contain keratin, which bonds with your hair, giving it a more voluminous and dense appearance.’

He went on to say, “It’s incredibly user-friendly. Here’s what I do: I simply remove the lid, attach the applicator as shown, give it a quick shake, and then pour it onto my hair.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’d like to share with you a technique I recently picked up. This time, I’m talking about how to use this fantastic product on my hair. I thought it would be helpful to show you both the pre-application state and the stunning transformation, giving you a clear before-and-after comparison. Enjoy!

Ronnie shared that his barber presented him with the product, and ever since then, he hasn’t needed to look for anything else.

He admitted: ‘The boost of confidence it’s given me over the years, it’s gone a long way.’

At the time, the footballer received a lot of praise for being open about his haircare journey.

Many viewers commented enthusiastically, expressing that it was heartening to witness him feeling at ease discussing this topic. They also hoped that his openness would inspire other men to overcome any anxiety they might have regarding their hairlines.

‘Well done for being so open and honest.’

‘Good one mate if it gives you confidence you do it, looking slick brother.’

It’s wonderful that you’re giving something away! It’s not unusual for women to do so with their hair extensions, so it’s refreshing to witness a man extending the same kindness and assistance.

I really appreciate your candor regarding your hairline, as I believe many people will find your post helpful and beneficial!
