Love Island Star Shares Heartbreaking Tribue to Father Lost to Cancer
Love Island contestant Brett Staniland made an emotional statement on Thursday, sharing news of his father’s passing while expressing heartfelt tribute.
On his Instagram story, the TV personality and style icon, who captivated viewers during the seventh season on ITV, posted a distressing update.
next to a family picture, he penned down: ‘I apologize to those who find this now, as I’ve not discussed this much before on here.’
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Mike, who left us on the previous day. He had been courageously fighting cancer for a brief period, having been diagnosed with Stage 4 in September.
‘He fought as hard as he could for the last six months and it was unexpected to lose him so soon.
He provided us with an extraordinary lifestyle and fulfilled his wish by relocating to Turkey, where he spent the rest of his days happily.

Brett went on to say, “Tomorrow, we’ll respect his desire to be laid to rest where he considered home, which is Turkey.
He was adored by all, his actions constantly demonstrated selflessness towards others. His absence creates an unfillable void in our lives, yet our hearts hold onto the precious memories eternally.
I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who has been his friend, and has shown him love throughout their journey together. My love for you remains constant, Dad.
Brett, the twin, achieved notoriety in 2021 when he appeared on Love Island; he hails from Derbyshire, where he balances his studies as a PhD student with modeling work.
I’ve managed to amass over 100,000 followers on Instagram, where I’m recognized not just for my modeling work, but also as an advocate for sustainable fashion.
When Molly-Mae Hague’s fashion brand was launched last year, Brett gave his opinions on TikTok.
He told his followers: ‘Molly-Mae has launched her own brand – her own brand called Maebe.

Maebe aims to fill the void between affordable fast fashion and high-end luxury, offering prices that are within reach.
At this specific price range, you might find an excellent value for the money. If you’re looking for high-quality garments made from natural materials that will endure over time, this could be just the place.
I’m completely smitten! I was shown a 100% plastic item priced at just £50, and let me tell you, it’s a steal! Plus, there’s this stunning £140 blazer that boasts an impressive 80% plastic content. Simply amazing!
He commented: All these items are of extremely poor quality, much like quick fashion trends, and their production cost is remarkably low.
It’s intriguing to find out if they are content with the items they purchased and if they plan on being repeat customers.
