Love Island’s Malin Andersson has revealed she is training as a midwife.
The 32-year-old influencer shared that, having experienced the loss of a child and recently becoming a mother, she now wants to speak from a place of deeper personal strength and authenticity.
In 2019, Malin tragically lost her first baby, Consy, who passed away at just four weeks old after being born prematurely. She later welcomed her daughter, Xaya, into the world in 2022.
The actress has shared that, given all she’s been through, she feels a strong desire to support women during a deeply meaningful time in their lives – becoming mothers.
She announced on Instagram that she’s beginning training to become a midwife. Sharing her reasons, she explained that her life experiences and becoming a mother have inspired her to support women during childbirth, which she considers a deeply special time.
I’m not stopping or losing my voice; I’m simply connecting it to something more authentic and meaningful. I’ll keep sharing, writing, and creating, but from a place of deeper grounding and truth.

I’m starting a new chapter with my studies and would love to collaborate with brands and projects that fit my interests – things like family, wellness, lifestyle, education, and motherhood. Any support for me and my daughter as I pursue this goal would be greatly appreciated.
I’m starting a new chapter, and I’m grateful for the support of others. If you’re interested in connecting, working together, or building something new with me, please feel free to reach out.
She also shared that she’s personally dealt with the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth, including the loss of a baby, postpartum depression, and raising a child as a single parent.
I’d like to find a way to make a positive impact, perhaps by using my voice and influence to help create change. It’s an interesting thought… almost like being a guide for spiritual growth.
I’m very resilient when facing bullying or a toxic work environment. My experience working with Number 10 and the Home Office gives me the ability to make a real, positive impact in this area.
I’ve been following Malin’s journey since she was on Love Island, and I really admire how open she’s been about her mental health. It was lovely to hear she’s starting a new chapter and moving to Barcelona – I’m so excited for her!
Last month, she checked in with her followers with a video, calling it an ‘update of the truth.’
Just a quick update: Xaya and I are currently in Madeira visiting my best friend. We’ll be here for a week before heading to Barcelona for the next part of our trip.

Malin explained that it’s hard to picture leaving everything familiar behind. Her mother brought the family from Sweden to the UK when she was just three, and she’s lived in Bedfordshire ever since – practically her whole life.
If you remove work and other external supports, your main source of security becomes your local community – the people you know, familiar places, and everyday routines.
When I really thought about things, I realized I have nothing left here. I arrived with a whole family, but now I’m leaving completely alone. I’m not in touch with my brothers and sisters, my parents have passed away, and I have no other family. It’s just me and Zaya now.
The mother of one said she’s feeling unhappy and lonely where she lives and wants to move somewhere that will make her happier.
She explained that she reached a breaking point. She felt completely drained and numb, going through the motions without really living.
After a lifetime of dealing with stress, hardship, and difficult experiences, I’m now focusing on healing, self-reflection, and making positive changes in my life. That’s the path I’m on.
I’ve completely cut ties with England – I don’t own anything there anymore. I’m craving adventure, travel, and happiness. It’s strange, because even though I’ve just arrived, I feel restless, like my body is still stuck in a different mode.
In 2017, shortly after appearing on the ITV2 dating show, Malin experienced a great loss when her mother died following a battle with stomach cancer.
Then two years later, her baby girl Consy passed away from complications of being born prematurely.
In January 2022, Malin gave birth to her daughter, Xaya, but her boyfriend, Jared, ended their relationship only four weeks later.

The actress revealed that her ex-partner, Tom Kemp, was abusive towards her during their relationship and was imprisoned in 2020 for attacking her.
In a recent online post, she openly shared that she used to wonder about her sexual orientation, explaining it stemmed from feeling unsafe around men.
Growing up without a father made it hard for her to understand love, and she’s found it difficult to embrace her femininity as an adult.
In a video discussing the balance of masculine and feminine energies, she shared that she has never felt safe around men.
I even started to question my sexual orientation because I’ve always struggled to express my feminine side.
I haven’t been able to fully open up in relationships because past partners have been very self-centered and emotionally hurt, making it difficult to feel secure.
I’ve always focused on strength – both physically with my workouts and as a single mom – and haven’t really connected with a softer, more feminine side of myself. I haven’t yet found someone who makes me feel truly secure.
My issues stem from childhood. I didn’t feel secure enough to embrace my femininity, and I lacked a strong father figure to teach me what healthy love looks like.
