Love Island star Lauren Wood is forced to backtrack after claiming her £1,000 Louis Vuitton handbag was ‘stolen off her shoulder’ during a girls’ day out in Lawless London

Love Island’s Lauren Wood had to correct her story after initially saying her £1,000 Louis Vuitton bag was snatched from her while she was out in London.

The 26-year-old reality star said her bag was stolen while she was riding the subway with friends on Wednesday.

However, she later shared a video explaining that her bag hadn’t been stolen at all – someone had actually turned it in to lost and found.

Lauren said on TikTok on Thursday: ‘I literally feel like such a clumsy idiot right now.

I was really worried yesterday because I thought my bag had been stolen. I frantically tried to remember where I’d been, and like most people, I immediately imagined the worst.

I’m so relieved and happy – someone found my lost bag and turned it in! It really restores my faith in people.

I’m incredibly relieved and thankful to the person who returned it. It’s really reassuring to know there are still kind and honest people around.

She went on to say that when something bad happens, it’s easy to jump to the most negative conclusion, and she certainly did that herself.

‘Sorry for the drama, I was in absolute meltdown mode, as you can imagine and as anyone would be.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude to whoever turned it in – you’ve really reminded me that there are good people in the world.

I’m incredibly grateful to the person who reached out to me via direct message. That single message made everything possible, and it’s a perfect example of how social media can be truly amazing. Without it, none of this would have happened.

Lauren, a former contestant on the twelfth season of Love Island, had a fun day with friends yesterday. They went shopping at Selfridges and then attended a fancy event for a brand.

Lauren and her friend were looking at the artwork at The Londoner hotel in Leicester Square when Lauren noticed her bag was gone. They had been grabbing a Hugo Spritz and relaxing on the balcony when she first realized it was missing.

Lauren suddenly realized her bag was missing, and she looked at Char with a panicked expression. She was completely shocked and just sat there, realizing it wasn’t on her shoulder.

I immediately began searching the gift shop, wondering if I’d placed it on a rack or where I’d put it.

Everyone was searching for the item – the staff and security both. We suggested they review the security camera footage.

So, a few minutes later, the staff member returned after checking the security footage. He told me something that completely surprised me: I hadn’t actually entered the hotel carrying a Louis Vuitton bag. It was a bit of a ‘wait, what?’ moment, honestly!

Lauren was shocked to discover the bag was gone by the time she reached The Londoner hotel.

She urged her followers at the time to ‘keep your stuff safe when you’re in central London’.

Lauren and Harrison Solomon became a couple on Love Island and continued dating for three months after the show ended.
