Love Island star lands iconic lead role in upcoming Legally Blonde revival as she brings Elle Woods to UK stages

Amber Davies, known from Love Island, will star as Elle Woods in a new production of the musical Legally Blonde.

The 28-year-old actress will play the role made famous by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 movie, portraying a student at Harvard Law School.

The musical is scheduled to premiere in February of next year at the Curve theater in Leicester, and will then tour the UK through 2027.

Amber recreated a famous look from the movie *Legally Blonde* in a video posted to Instagram on Thursday. She wore a full pink outfit and even included Elle’s adorable dog, Bruiser.

Amber first appeared on the ITV dating show in 2017. Since then, she’s become a stage actress, having trained at Urdang Academy.

She primarily worked on the new West End musical, *The Great Gatsby*, which was performed at the London Coliseum from April 16th to September 7th. The show beautifully brought F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic story to the stage.

Overwhelmed with gratitude for her fans’ support, Amber shared that she was crying and called the moment a dream come true. She expressed her thanks for every message, comment, like, and share, calling her fans ‘the BEST’.

I’m really touched by this reaction. I want to assure you that Elle is very well cared for with me, and I’m thrilled to be taking her on tour. It’s a perfect role for me, honestly.

I can’t wait to show her around the UK and Ireland! I’m incredibly thankful and honestly at a loss for words. I love you all and look forward to seeing you next year!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I still adore the movie *Legally Blonde* when it came out in 2001! Reese Witherspoon absolutely shines as Elle Woods, and the supporting cast is fantastic – Matthew Davis as the preppy Warner Huntington III, and who could forget Jennifer Coolidge’s hilarious Paulette Bonafonte? Selma Blair and Victor Garber also brought so much to the film, it’s a truly iconic cast!

The movie follows Elle Woods, a sorority girl, who unexpectedly decides to go to Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend.

Despite facing skepticism from her classmates, Elle perseveres, earns their respect, successfully defends a client in a murder trial, and leaves her ex-boyfriend behind.

Legally Blonde spawned several sequels and even a Tony-nominated Broadway musical.

Back in 2021 Reese opened up on social media about how the role has impacted her life.

Reese has shared that people still frequently tell her how her character, Elle, motivated them to follow their passions and achieve their goals.

I’m constantly amazed by the people who tell me Elle Woods inspired them to pursue law or believe in themselves. It happens regularly – almost every week or month – and it’s incredibly rewarding.

I felt a real connection to the character Elle Woods, especially after playing her in my school play. I share that connection with everyone involved in making the film – people I admire greatly – and with all of you watching.

She said playing Elle Woods was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and she was grateful to have shared the character’s story with everyone.

According to IMDB and Good Morning America, a third movie in the popular film series is supposedly being made.

Originally planned for release in 2022, the project is currently on hold, and a new release date hasn’t been set.
