Love Island Star in Bus Crash with Toddler, Shares Terrifying Warning
Shaughna Phillips disclosed an incident where she collided with a double-decker bus, with her young daughter in the vehicle as well.
On Saturday evening, the celebrity from Love Island was behind the wheel with her one-year-old daughter when they encountered a startling accident involving a bus in London.
The 30-year-old expressed that she was experiencing discomfort, reported no severe injuries, and encouraged fans to consistently use their safety belts.
On Sunday, Shaughna, from season six of Love Island (2020), posted a picture on her Instagram Story showing a bus with its windshield shattered and the front part dangling loose.
Last night, I unfortunately had a minor fender bender with a bus. Thankfully, things could have turned out much worse, and having my dear companion Lucia in the vehicle made the situation even more nerve-wracking!
‘A bit sore today but I’ll take that any day. Always wear your seatbelts.’
Earlier in the day, Shaughna had taken Lucia for lunch at a branch of Toby Carvery.
ITV celebrity, Lucia, is jointly owned by her incarcerated partner Billy Webb, who was convicted on charges related to conspiring to distribute approximately 4.5 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of £360,000, following his apprehension during a drug operation.
On January 2023, he faced charges for having an illegal substance with the intention to distribute (Class A drug) and for involvement in the distribution of controlled substances.
Her road accident comes after she witnessed a man die in a motorbike crash last May.
She wrote: “I’ve recently learned that a man around thirty passed away at the site of the accident. This unfortunate event has been on my mind throughout the day, reminding me how unpredictable tomorrow can be.
‘Sending so much love to the poor family and anyone who witnessed that this morning.’
Shaughna – who has recently lost six stone – welcomed Lucia with Billy in April 2023.
In 2020, the television personality was expecting a child with Billy, whom she had started dating, when he was imprisoned following a search for Class A drugs.
In June 2024, I reignited my relationship with him, while he was granted freedom in November, having served only a year out of his sentence, which totaled 12 months.
Come January 2024, I find myself reflecting on the journey of co-parenting with Billy, a journey that began in the festive month of December 2023. I felt compelled to share my experiences, asking those who follow me not to pass judgment on our unique situation. After all, we’re navigating parenthood together, and every family has its own story.
On her Oh, Baby With Shaughna and Holly podcast, Shaughna expressed that it’s a heartrendingly difficult situation she finds herself in.
First off, I’d like to make it clear that you are free to form your own judgment about my response, but I prefer not to be informed of it since I believe that without experiencing the same situation, it might be challenging for others to fully understand or offer a fair opinion.
Previously, the idea of bringing my child into a prison would have been unthinkable to me, given that I hadn’t yet become a parent. If someone had posed that question to me back then, my response would have undeniably been a firm no.
If someone acts that way, they’re clearly not of sound mind. Yet here I am, find myself in the same predicament. It seems we will always share the role of parents.
This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.
She continued: ‘I can affirm that my father and I shared an unparalleled bond, and to me, he is the greatest individual on earth.’
“I hope Lucia continues to view her father positively. I would never interfere with his visits to her.” (In this sentence, the emphasis is on the continuation of a positive relationship between Lucia and her father, and the reassurance that there will be no interference with their meetings.)
Shaughna previously defended her decision to take her baby daughter to visit Billy in prison.
She shared with OK! magazine that the choice wasn’t taken lightly, and she wouldn’t mince words – the initial experience was indeed intimidating and overwhelming for her.
It wasn’t until I stepped inside the building that I fully grasped the situation. I was extremely anxious, but there was no doubt in my mind. From the start, I was resolute about taking Lucia to see her father.
Despite being the very last spot I’d consider for bringing up a baby, I felt compelled to do so because it seemed like my duty. Regrettably, Billy has likely missed out on many experiences in his child’s life due to his actions, but I was determined not to prevent him from becoming a father.
