As a long-time fan of Love Island, I must confess that this season has been full of unexpected twists and turns. And Friday night’s episode was no exception! The tension between Grace Jackson and Reuben Collins was palpable, and I couldn’t help but feel for Grace as she confronted him about his hurtful comments during their challenge.
As a lifestyle expert and avid fan of Love Island, I was thrilled to see Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube finally going on their first official date together last Friday night! The chemistry between them has been palpable since they entered the villa, so it was wonderful to witness this milestone in their relationship.
After the events of the previous night, as Josh enjoyed the tranquil Mallorcan sunrise, he received a text message. The message read: “Josh and Mimii, it’s time for your first date together. Prepare to depart from the Villa. #MarketDateNight #CreatingMemories.”
Leaving the Villa behind, the two explored an authentic Spanish market on the island and stumbled upon a crochet teddy bear stand.
Mimii expressed: “It seems fitting for us to experience our first Teddy Bear together – our first creation.”
The two chose their preferred name and decided to call it “Jomii,” combining elements from each of their names.
Despite fans’ anticipation, the “dull” and “economical” stroll dating experience left them feeling underwhelmed. This was in stark contrast to an earlier date between Matilda and Sean, where he got to drive a sleek sports car.
Taking to X they wrote: ‘Nah what date is this? Everyone got a nice date but them?!?! #loveIsland’.
‘They didn’t even get them lunch! #LoveIsland’.
‘What kind of s**t date is this. #loveisland’.
‘This date is DRAB #LoveIsland’.
‘why did sean and matilda get a porsche but josh and mimii have to go on a walk ????? #loveisland’.
‘So Sean and Matilda get a luxury car while Josh and Mimii get sent to a market #loveIsland’.
“They brought the group to the market for a chance to sample cheeses, browse, and purchase bears. Did everyone on Love Island spend their entire budget on this outing?”
‘Sean’s hire car must have been depleted the budget because a walking market date?? #loveisland’.
I can’t help but roll my eyes at that cheap date suggestion. You know, the one where the guy gets to impress his girl with a fancy car like a Porsche while you’re left taking the bus and walking around town. Been there, done that. Trust me, it’s not a recipe for a successful or enjoyable date. #LoveIsland might work in that reality TV show bubble, but in real life, we all crave experiences that make us feel valued and appreciated. So let’s aim higher than low-budget transportation, shall we?

Also in Friday night’s episode Grace Jackson and Reuben Collins had a tense exchange.
A heated argument ensued when Reuben suggested Harry Baker wasn’t drawn to her during their challenge. (Alternatively, Reuben’s comment about Harry Baker not being attracted to her ignited a heated dispute.)
As Reuben reached out to give Grace a hug before she spoke, she gently dismissed him with the words: “I’m not in the mood for a hug just yet.”
She started by admitting, “Your comment during today’s challenge left me truly annoyed, I must confess. It seemed like an attempt to humiliate Harry and myself. Please keep in mind that such behavior is not acceptable.”
I’ve had my fair share of heartbreaks in relationships, and nothing is more disheartening than seeing an ex with someone new, especially when it feels like they’ve moved on so quickly. That’s exactly how I felt when I ran into my ex-boyfriend with Lola Deluca, a girl young enough to be his daughter. Love Island surprised the contestants once more by announcing an unexpected final recoupling, following the elimination of Lolly Hart and Konnor Ewduzi on Thursday evening.

After settling in, the following text was unveiled: Tonight marks the last opportunity for Islanders to select a female partner each.
